Hi Everyone,

I accidently threw the manual out for my Casio CFX-9850G Plus. So this question is probally quite simple.

How can I perfrom a mod operation. For example:

8 mod 3 = 2
9 mod 5 = 4

The calculator has no mod button, but it must be possible.

Any ideas?

Yes, go to

and get another copy of the manual. :nod:

Hey, many of the questions people are asking have already been answered:

I stumbled across it the other day and WOW, it has nearly every programming trick in the book! A must read for aspiring programmers. :D

Sorry, this is unrelated but isn't worth a new topic...

1) Does a sequence with i) common ratio 1 ii) common ratio -1 iii) common ratio 0 iv) every term 0 count as a geometric progression? For iii), consider the formula ar^(n-1)=0^0, which is undefined! For iv), r is undefined.
2) Does a sequence with every term equal count as an arithmetic progression?
3) Does exactly n days after an event fall on the nth day or the (n+1)th day?

3) Does exactly n days after an event fall on the nth day or the (n+1)th day?

1i: yes
1ii : yes
1iii : yes, U_n is a geometric progression iff U_n = q * U_(n-1), q constant, n >= 1 by definition, your formula isn't valid for the first element of a progression (but it can)
1iv : yes
2 : yes, U_n is a arith progression iff U_n = r + U_(n-1), r constant, n>=1
3 : One day after a event = the day after the day when the event occured, but i suppose it depends on people : example : if you're born @ Sept. 27, 2000, for me, at Sept.30, 2001 : you are 1 year old (and ~3 days) but you are NOT 2 years. At Jul. 29, 2001 : you are nearly 2 but NOT 2 (1,...). In other countries, @ Sept.28 2001, you are 2, because they consider that you've passed your 1-year-biorthday, they always round to the next integer. It's like when you're coming near traffic lights, and a man says "on the next traffic lights, turn right". Is he talking about these lights, or these after (in some countries ther consider these lights as "current lights" and these after as "next one"...) :P

Hmm... further confusion: does 'the first day' mean the 24 hour period following an event or the actual day it occurs? :rolleyes: The reason I asked was because I considered the former, its borderline (exactly n days falls right between what is considered the nth day and what is considered the (n+1)th day). I guess its the latter because you are 'entering' the (n+1)th day, as in the naming of 12AM.

Question: What time falls in the period after itself? :blink: Answer: Noon, its in the afternoon (12PM). :D

Hi I am trying to do modulo on my calculator.

I have done this:

119^11->A

899->B

A-BInt (A/B)

And it comes up with 100000000 whereas if I go to another calculator WITH mod it gives me 595

Please explain why its not coming up with the correct answer

P.S -899*(119^11/899)+119^11 comes up with 100000000 aswell

P.P.S 8-3*Int (8/3) = 2 on my calculator
