ive done this before but its been a couple years,

id like to know all of the specific casio model numbers that align with the calculator names, heres an example:

Name: Algebra FX 2.0
Model: ZX945
ROM: 1.00

if you could do the same i would appreciate it. im looking for unique model numbers, so if you see your model number listed, but you have a different name please inform me of both. if you have a different model number please inform me of that as well. i have included my ROM version just incase a model number changed along with a ROM version.

please dont assume you have one that is already listed, check your test menu, the model number is listed there. ("ZX*** TEST MENU")

thanks!

that's strange by reading my own post I've just noticed that the test menu and what I read at 0xCBA2:0X4 isn't the same and it's not a mistake.

if the ROM always says ZX945 then i can explain it, Casio developed what came to be known as the Algebra FX 2.0, then made derivatives in the software to make the other models. because as we know: afx2 - icons = g100, and so on.... but in order to keep track of the system segment edits, the calc must be known so they have different model numbers for the derivatives...

as for the plus models, well ill bet the afx2+ that is a little odd

but if the ROM string changes more, that would be VERY interesting

just to recap:

following the models that are listed in Add-In Installer, we have:

ZX918: ???
GY352: ???
GY351: Graph100+
GY350: Algebra FX 2.0+
ZX948: ???
ZX947: Algebra FX 1.0
ZX946: Graph100
ZX945: Algebra FX 2.0

notes: GY352 is probably Algebra FX 1.0+, if any such model exists...

I just found a very hold post I've done on the French forum:

You can read very good thing from these addresses to detect the version of ROM:

- 0xC000:0xC
- 0xC000:0xD
- 0xC000:0xF

The value of - 0xC000:0xC is 0x42 for a ROM 1.02, 0x43 for a ROM 1.03 and 0x41 for a ROM 1.01 !!

GY360 is fx-9750GA Plus

Perhaps some interesting strings in the AFX firmware:

"T-Note BIOS v0.60 (Revision 1.10)
Copyright © 1996-1997 CASIO, Inc.
NEC V30MX tm ZX-950  11/28/97"

"Boot Failure: ROM-DOS not found!"

"You can't initialize REAL mask rom."
(Hint: RM-ALGEBRA FX 2.0 uses flash chips and no mask ROMs thus the OS can be updated.)
