Hi,

I am a junior electrical engineering student and I am currently taking Chemistry 101 (it doesnt unlock anything for me so i kept it for last). In the first chapter in chemistry 101, there are questions where it is required from us to round up final answers and show correct significant figures. I don't really have much time to focus on such a thing and my final exams marathon begins in 10 days, I have a million other important things to do.

How can I do this on my fx-991ES, as in show the final answer with the correct number of sigfigs, rounded up. ?

Hi, Try this:-

<span class=Shift' /> [MODE] (SETUP) <span class=7' /> (Sci) follow by the number of significant digits you want it to display (this can be 0 ~ 9)

the result is rounded up, eg. if you use Sci4 display, the result of 50/9 will be 5.556x10^0 and in Sci9 it'll be 5.55555556x10^0.

Note: If your calculator is in natural display mode and the result of calculation is a surd, it will be displayed in its simplified form, such as √24 will result "2√6", you can use [S<=>D] button to switch result display to a scientific notation and vice versa.

hope this helps. ^_^
