Hi
I'm an Electronic Engineering student & i want to buy a CAS capable calculator. but its a little confusing...

Between "Classpad 330" & "TI nspire cx cas"
which one do you suggest at all?
which one has better support from communities & has more programs ?

I want to buy a calc & stick with it for a long time. so i need a quality one (:D)
do you suggest any other models ? (from hp or ...)

Please help me to choose a proper calc...

I have both calculators, plus a TI 89 and Hp 50. Of the four, a good, CAS utility calculator is the TI 89. If you are more interested in exploring math, then the Classpad or HP 50 would be a better choice. The TI Nspire is okay but not too user friendly, as it is geared mostly for teaching. I should add the TI has announced that they will soon be offering an update for the TI Nspire.

New OS 3.2 TI Nspire CX CAS (not TI Nspire CAS)

It will be available for the regular Nspire CAS too, not just the CX CAS.

Keep in mind, hooowever, that if, beside educational purposes, you plan to also use the calc for entertainment purposes or simply have more freedom with it, then be warned that everytime a new TI-Nspire OS is released, it blocks almost every third party game, speed increasers and enhancment add ins until the community manages to hack the new OS several months later, while Casio, while the ClasspaD is less powerful, lets you do whatever you want with your machine you paid for.

Also be aware that 3D graphing full color graphing will be coming tothe Prizm. The prizm, while not as powerful as the Nspire, has more programming capabilities, and is not restricted like the Nspire. Overall, Casio has shown much more support to Prizm programmers than TI has to Nspire ones. This will result in a host of great programs and games for the Prizm. If you have to decide between Casio and TI, Casio is the way to go.

Hello

Don't you think that today it's better to acquire a smartphone or small tablet instead of these expensive calculators? and add a good CAS program.

Hello skan and welcome to UCF! You should introduce yourself.

If you are an engineer or something, yes. But you are not allowed to use smartphones on tests, so calculators still have a market. ;)
