i'm sorry, but i need to make it that big to include a large variety of enemies, areas and options.

don't you have a computer-calc link cable?

Anyway, if you want to save your Empire game dat, just delete the game, but not the matrix files [Mat D].

i hope this will help. :rock:

if I have some extra time I could look at your game and see if I can find ways to make it smaller without loosing content if you would like.

that's nice of you Crimson, but i would prefer to edit my games myself.
i don't like people editing my games.

i had a few problems at school with people editing it and changing characters, names and even where it states 'created by me' :rock:

what game was that? was it a huge one, as nothing's worse than people taking credit for your big projects.

i put a password on my game EMPIRE so that no one could edit it. yet now it's on the net, so anyone can edit it now. (i didn't put a password on the version i put on my site.)

BTW: what do you think of my new site design. have you tried my new programs?

yeah, I like your site, I disagree with killer, the moving background does not take away from the overall as it is not over used, the only thing I would change is the white nav bar, make it light blue or something. as for your games, I have downloaded both Kingdom and Empire but havent had the time to play them much with my current project, once I finish or need a breather I intend to play them through.

the only thing I would change is the white nav bar, make it light blue or something.

you mean the bar on my main page, with the words Games, Programs and Links with the icons that go with them?

i need to have the white background, as my animations have a white backing.

anyway, thanks for the advice. :rock:

BTW: when are you going to update your site Crimson?
your page isn't very centered. i think you should get rid of the menu on the side. i'm talking about your new site, if you'll wondering. :rock:

i see now.

it must take ages to type the games in. you must be quick in typing. why don't you just buy a cable.

go to CWORKS and order one. this is an Australian website, where i bought mine from. however he also mails overseas. the cables are only about $25 US, so are easily affordable.

I'm sorry that i can't shorten Empire, but if you do get a cable make sure you play it.

BTW: enjoy KINGDOM :rock:

EMPIRE will still be on my site once you finish.
Have you looked at my new design.
Tell me what you think. Also, there are a number of new useful programs that i have just created.

I dont worry about people editing there saves in my game, if they can figgure out how 5 matrices and 6 lists work together they deserve to be able to edit their game, but it will probably screw them anyway because they will get the story and game progression mixed up and nothing will work. :D heck, I keep a catalog of what each variable and list item and matrix cell does/represents and its bigger than some of the programs. plus I put lots of comments all over the place so I dont loose track of when I change them, when I publish the game these comments will not go with it :lol: .

Besides, people who would edit their game and ruin the fun of it wouldn't appreciate the game as it was ment to be played, and frankly I dont care if they ruin the fun of the game by making themselfs godlike, they are the only ones being hurt by it.

just add check sums it's real easy, save your crap in matrix or lists and just make some random complex math fucntion
say you use list position 1-4 i'll designated them by (#)
17(1)-(2)^2 X (3) -(4)^(4)
now this is just a stupid example you can get a lot more complex, take that result and store it in list 5, then when you load or start the game just run that function and compare that function to list 5 if they match great if they dont do something evil to their saved game

just make sure you test it first and make sure it works

one thing to take in mind is that never do the square root or divide, making the numbers smaller creates fractions, fractions can be rounded, rounded numbers do not match the real numbers. you should'nt use fractions anyway in general

correct me if im wrong but if they compared to diffrent game saves then they could (with a little work) figure it out. or they could just look at the code.

if you want a really devious method then heres what I'd do:

For 1->T To Dim List 1
List 1[T]/100000->List 1[T]
List 1[T]+(100Rand#+(50Rand#+1))->List 1[T]
Next

then use this to get the real numbers back.

For 1->T To Dim List 1
Frac(List 1[T])*100000->List 1[T]
Next

with this method it wont matter how much they edit the numbers before the . they are just junk numbers anyway. if you want to be very sure they dont edit it, use both methods (manical laughter) :lol: .

I tried to do anti-cheat methods in Secret of Aan, but I screwed it anyway. :lol: Plus, who'd want to cheat in our games... they're so good you'd want to play the whole thing!!! :rolleyes: oops... I forgot about modesty.

I think the strangest savable games are those ones which go 'YOU CAN SAVE YOUR PROGRESS AND STORE IT SAFELY!!!' and it just puts in the variables waiting for someone to come along and factorise binomials.

btw, how do you factorise binomials?

About my site, lots of people are saying it sucks. For god sake, it's only a temporary page!!! I was just moving a picture from one comp to another while my computer's floppy disk drive broke down. It still is, so I just got a network connection (I can play LAN games across the house now).
