Hi!

I am a newbie on this forum. I am considering buying a 9860GII but am confused at the different models/versions. On Casio website, I have found

- 9860GII (with the image showing the label "USB Power Graphic").

- 9860GII S (image showing "USB Power Graphic 2".

- The pink model 9860GIIPK also has an image of Power Graphic 2 on Casio site.

I am researching used items online and found someone selling 9860GII but with USB Power Graphic 2.

Can someone please explain the differences? Is it true that only the USB Power Grapic 2 models have more powerful SH4 processors? Or only the Graphic 2 has vector functions?  Thanks!

Hi! grob103 :)

"USB Power Graphic " is SH3 model
"USB Power Graphic 2" is SH4 model
There is no fully compatible of add-in.

Is it true that only the USB Power Grapic 2 models have more powerful SH4 processors?

yes.

vector functions is OS 2.04 feature both of SH3 and SH4.

Hi,

If you really want high speed operation with fx-9860GII, I recommend "USB Power Graphic 2" model. if you use over-clocking add-in, you can enjoy more than 230MHz, this is much higher than normal clock 29MHz). I use Ftune2 created  by sentaro21 (he gave you comment above). We can download this add-in in this forum.

If you enjoy C programming with CASIO SDK, it does not fully support "USB Power Graphic 2".

But I think you can cope with this. So at this time I think "USB Power Graphic 2" is the best.
