The processor in the AFX 2.0+ is equivalent to the Intel 80186. It has all the instructions of the Intel 80286 except that it has no protected mode nor the instructions to handle it. Any book about the '186 or '286 should be useful in programming the AFX.

If you dont know anything about CPU's you can learn the operation of them reading the book "Digital Logic and Computer Design" wrote by M. Morris Mano, it would be a good start beginning. But the best way to learn about this is in the web, use google, hot bot etc. to search information (there is a lot of this information in english):

IIRC the AFX uses an NEC v30 at 8mhz.

You should use Search facility of this forum to find many posts about AFX's processor (I poseted about it atleast 3 times), moreover most of ASM/C webpages dedicated to AFX have some info about it, so I don't know how you searched.

I see the speed of CP300 CPU in ClassPad 300's Service Manager file (*.pdf) . :P
SH7291 CPU SPEED = 32xxx KHZ = 32.xxx MHZ :hammer:

Although it seems late, you can find information about the SH3 series of microprocessors (SH 7291 being part of this, as far as I know) on the following link:
SH-3/SH-3E/SH3-DSP Software Manual
As you can see, this technology is currently owned by Renesas Technology.

This is the SH-3 assembler programming manual.
Here is the manual of the SH-7709S, it's architecture is the nearest from the SH-7291, as far as I know. I've not found any info about SH-7291 itself. :(

SH-7709S Hardware Manual

Btw, what do you want to do ? :)
