I'm still wondering if there is a financial function (TVM) just like on the AFX and CFX series. It is very good function just like spreadsheet. Is it possible to be exist on the next update ??? ;)

The lack of financial functions is a big problem. The Classpad 300 is great for the majority of calculations done in buisness administration EXCEPT for the financial calculations.

Personaly I use a Classpad300 but also carry around a FX9850 for the finacial functions.

<_< Don't wait for the next update, write a basic program or a CPLua program that does these works. ClassPad's Basic is very easy and CPLua also becomes easy when you learnt it, it is interesting!

Seriously, I saw OS version 3 at South Korea & it has TVM, Laplace, Fourier, and also the CP manager is very good ...I even got to have a look at the R and D team when they introduce it there...

Well I have 1000USD reason to say so. :) I paid 1000 bucks to attend, flight and dorm fee. The guy who presented it is a Japanese, fukaya is his name and with a america lady call diane. I am still trying to register as member untl then I can only answer as guest. Perhaps Softcalc can add to that??

:offtopic: OS 3 almost merritts a new topic.

Casio has been working on OS 3. It has many features that people have been requesting. Of course it won't have all the features that every person has requested, but it has many great improvements and additions.

Why announce it in a conference in Korea? When will it be available? I don't know the answers to these questions, but I can guess.

Please note, the following is a general observation. I have no idea what Casio's plans are for releasing OS 3. Most companies that sell educational products target "back-to-school". Schools make purchases before the start of the school year so teachers need to know about it long before then. If you want to sell a product for back-to-school, you pretty much want to announce it by December of the previous year.

When will it be available? I can't even guess. Since they have announced it I can only assume it will be available somewhere between now and back-to-school 2006.

Indeed. Nice smilie, btw. I didn't noticed that it was available in the "Show All" window :blind:.

Omg, "back-to-school 2006" means next Sepember... Let's just hope that we don't have to wait so much. Let's also hope that Casio won't follow the tradition, and the "mythical" new OS will be a real upgrade; CP needs (and deserves) that. Do you remember the so-called "changes" from OS 2 to OS 2.2?

according to fukaya the new version wil be out in 3-6 months time BUT it is not free. And by the way, it is defintiely a very major upgrade especially when you see the manager, almost unregonisable

The upgrade for the Manager might not be free (but I am not sure of this). As you've noticed, the new Manager is very different from 2.2. It is more than just an emulator now.

For all you worriers, there is no reason to get all worried when nothing has been announced. I have always assumed that this would be a free upgrade. Until I hear differently I suggest everyone else do the same.

<_< Did you read my post?

The upgrade for the Manager might not be free (but I am not sure of this). As you've noticed, the new Manager is very different from 2.2. It is more than just an emulator now.

For all you worriers, there is no reason to get all worried when nothing has been announced. I have always assumed that this would be a free upgrade. Until I hear differently I suggest everyone else do the same.

I have no idea about the Manager. This is the PC software, not the ClassPad OS. The Manager has many new features that make it more a Windows program than a calculator emulator. I don't know if the Manager will be a free upgrade or not, but this is PC software. Do you expect a free upgrade for a major new release of any PC software you've ever purchased? Still, I have no idea what Casio is planing, but don't get upset at speculation. For all I know Casio could give the fixed sized calculator style emulator away for free (this is the older Manager style software) and charge for the newer, resizable window software. Mabe they will upgrade the Manager 2.2 to 3.0 for free. Maybe they will charge for the upgrade. I don't have a clue so don't start worrying about something that hasn't happened yet.

As far as the ClassPad OS, nobody has even suggested that Casio would charge for the OS, so don't worry about something that hasn't happened and isn't even suggested.
