Possible ClassPad 350 features:
===> (Touch screen) backlight
Why?: fx-9860G Slim and fx-9860GII (SD/AU) already have it.
===> SD card slot
Why?: Why not?
===> Improved design
Why?: Have you ever looked at the new fx-9860GII design? (Link)
===> OS 3.50
Why?: Why should they take so long for OS 3.04?

And finally, where's the low budget version like fx-7400GII/fx-9750GII? Probably the ClassPad 330 will fill this gap.
What do you think? Any features to add? :)

I don't know anything about this but i really don't like to think about the new release as I just bought the 330 and may be missing out on greatness :unsure: LOL

But anyways,
Regards

Lol, SD slot would be cool and yes, we definitely need a design update.
And OS 3.04... good question - seems something is going on at Casio. FXOS 1.05 to 2.00 took us a year. :greengrin:

I don't understand why Casio has not released newer version for ClassPad yet. OS 3.03 has some serious error in calculation. And fixing them is not very hard (yeah, because OS 3.02 did'nt have these errors). It may be a "style" of Casio, I think. Some users didn't by a new ClassPad 330 just because it has OS 3.03. Every time I go to Casio Edu website, I search (and hope) there is new OS for CP. And it has been more than a year.
By the way WWDC (by Apple) is going to take place today. Hope to see new iPhone :)

If you buy you CP after May 2008, it may have OS 3.03 preinstalled.

No... just no. That's an awfully impractical design, you would have a damn hard time entering numbers with this thing.
And you could have at least done a decent job with the screen.

I have an idea: Why dont we make this topic into a poll: "Should Casio release a new version of the classpad?",

It would be interesting to see the oppinions of all those members that own a classpad.

probably never if it takes them forever to release anything, especially with as little interest as people have in them these days. :cry:

wow, where'd all the buttons go? good thing for the shift button :lol: (still there right?)

that might be interesting to have though. i'm still using the 300 that i got back in Dec 2003 :blink: and upgraded to os 3.01 back in Feb 2007. (unless it costs me $200 like it did back then :rolleyes: )

i really wish i still had time to use one though :banghead:

With the many short comings of the new TI-nspire cas design, it would seem reasonable that Casio would take advantage of the situation by introducing a really "wow!" product that everyone will want, even the hard core TI users. They could introduce something like built in battery charger with rechargable batteries, hi resolution color screen, 3D graphing of multiple surfaces in color, optional step by step answers for educational purposes, and a more complete keyboard. Such a device would totally wipe out their competition and over night make the Classpad the "in" thing in high schools and colleges. Technically it is all possible. Do I think it will happen? If we were speaking of HP or TI, I'd say no. But with Casio, I'd say that there is a better than 50/50 chance that at least some of these features will occur in a new Classpad that is introduced within the next year or so.

Here is my 2 cent:
It could be fantastic if a new GREAT calc comes out. Astro has written something that in these days could be released without an hardware too expensive.
A touch screen with hi resolution and color screen are in hundreds smartphone. So I think that is not an hardware problem. Is a SOFTWARE problem.
A new calc requires a new (GOOOD) software and I don't know if Casio (or someone else) intends to invest in something that I thing is not so profitable.

I dream that someone can build an open hardware calc with touchscreen anda a new software, but I think that this remains a dream...

If this is like all the other calculators I have bought, Casio will wait until two weeks after I buy a 330 before releasing any higher models. :banghead:

In the automobile market the Japanese won the long term race to become the dominant supplier by constantly producing better preforming products that have better quality, while the U.S. manufacturers concentrated on gimmics and sales pitches. I think we are seeing the same thing happen with the calculator market, so on the rare chance that you are delaying the introduction of a new and improved Classpad that will have vastly superior performance and quality compared to the nspire gimmics and sales pitch, please buy a 330 as soon as possible. Thank you. :greengrin:
