Sorry if this seems a silly question.

I have just bought a 9860 'Slim', and wanted to update it to OS 2.0

The Casio education download page shows a 1.11 update which I have successfully applied, but does not show a 2.0 update.

I thought perhaps the fx-9860G(SD) Ver 2 update might be a generic update across the whole family, but the updater fails saying the calculator is not the right for that update.

Despite looking around the Casio download page, I cannot see the OS 2.0 update specific to the 'Slim'

Can anyone help me out?

Casio has removed this file from their download service. Most likely, they have decided to integrate the GII features since there is no GII equivalent for the Slim.
You can get the standard OS 2.00 upgrade here: https://edu.casio.co...im_osup_200.zip (Casio Europe)
You can get a GII mod (without [Help]) here: http://casiokingdom....F...opic&t=1459

As it seems, Casio Europe has disabled the download as well...
That's why I've uploaded the standard OS 2.00 upgrade for Slim to RapidShare: http://rapidshare.co...G_Slim_2.00.exe

I've been searching everywhere for the 2.0 update for my Casio fx-9860g slim. The links that were posted on this topic are all broken and I really need the update for my school work. Is it possible for you guys to upload the update file?
Thank you for the attention :)

Here OS OS, where are you hiding?

Same issue here - new Slim. What OS and specifically where is the latest that can be loaded to the Slim? Thanks for any info.

Update: Casio (US) tech service stated that vers 1.11 is the "latest" for the slim. Is this true or are there later, slim compatible OS updates?

Thank you pan.gejt for a quick reply and link to the OS update.

Sorry for newbie questions but I am new to Casio calculators. To install, load OS to my PC (windows 7)/slim I need to:

1. I assume I should first install the latest FA-124 software v2.04?
2. Launch the new FA-124 before running fx-9860G_Slim_2.00 (setup)?
3. Run fx-9860G_Slim_2.00 setup.
4. fx-9860G_Slim_2.00 will ASK me to connect the slim by USB to the PC during the installation? Or do I need to use FA-124 to do this?

Ill try to install and report any errors...

Please, follow the Installation procedure. At least I hope there are no differences between 1.11 and 2.00.
Go to http://edu.casio.com/, select support - English (or another language) - Graphic Models. Accept SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT and on the next screen select "OS Update for fx-9860G Slim Ver.1.**" and download "[PDF File] User's Guide of OS Update (English)".
I compared the Installation with similar model 9860g and Classpad 330 and 400 and it seems the procedures are the same - run setup, connect calculators, wait for driver installation and finally wait for the OS update.

Some useful activities are here

Thanks pan.gejt!

It finally loaded to the slim using a windows vista machine  . The usb driver/recognition was finicky. Also, thank you for the activity link - I will check it out.

Next stop, Rekon RPN app...
