Hi,
I hope I'm in the right place.
Ok, so I have this Casio FX-82ES Scientific Calculator, and whenever I calculate something that has a long result or something, like 0.2^4, instead of giving me 0.0016, it gives me 1.6x10^-3.
Like this:
Another example would be 16! where it would give me 2.092278989x10^13 instead of 20922789888000.
How can I get rid of this x10^3 thing?
Thanks!
David

Hi, your fx-82ES is in Norm1 display mode, in this mode, your calculator will always display only significant digits of calculation result (scientific notation).
You can change the display mode to Norm2 which more seems to suit your need, by this:-
Shift' /> [MODE] (SETUP) 8' /> (Norm) 2' />
BTW, if the result's significant digits are more than 10, it will be displayed as scientific notation as ever (Casio calculator has this limit of displaying result), so, 16! will only results "2.092278989x10^13" but 0.0064/4 will now be "0.0016" (and will be "1/625" in natural display mode, you can use [S<=>D] button to switch result display to "0.0016" and vice versa).
