Hi,
I am planning to buy a casio classpad 300. This will be my first graphical calculator so please bear with me. I wanted some info on the classpad 300 CAS system. I dloaded the create activity tutorial from the casio europe website and was trying to solve the equation setp by step. But instead of doing it step by setp (as in the demonstrations of casio algebra fx on its website) it directly displays the answere. I have even turned the asssist mode on. Is this feature supported by classpad or is it just and exclusive feature of algebra fx? Or am i doing something wrong?

On the classpad website they have mentioned that this feature exists:

http://classpad.net/...00/detail1.html

"By using the highly functional CAS (Computer Algebra System) in calculations, it not only provides the numerical value of the calculation result but it displays the complete process of the formula as a result. Thus it enhances deeper understanding of mathematics."

Please help me.
Thanks

the solving process is shown in some e-activities (menu eActivity), it's like text documents but interacting with other modes like the CAS, graph, stat, ...

yeah, the normal CAS will not solve equations one step at a time, classpad.org has an e-activity that supposedly does it, but I think to get the real effect you would need to get an AFX (Algebra FX2.0).
however, if you are looking for the best CAS then the Classpad's CAS is far more powerful and acurate than the AFX's CAS.

Sad that I need to buy two calculators to get something out of them...dont get me wrong, but I thought that the classpad is a sucessor to all other casio calculators and its surprising why casio strip this featutr out of classpad.

I think i will wait till its implimented because i need it. I would have gone for voyger but unfortuntly its not available where i live.

Does anybody have an idea as to when we can get something like algebra Fx 2.0's tutor feature implimented in classpad?

I will buy classpad that very day! ;)

Thanks for your replies guys.

the TUTOR is not a 'official' function on the AFX as you must link it from the menu by yourself

as TUTOR only manage some well determined types of equations, it must be possible to write a program that do that

yeah, even the AFX' tutor only works for about 10 equation types (mabey somebody can take a screenshot), so even it may not be what you want... as far as I know Casio has no plans to put a tutor app on the classpad, though there seems to be quite a demand for it...
