What math does TI-89 Platinum do that ClassPad does not?
I am trying to make a choice.

are you sure about the syntax .. I can't imagine that a
CP300 can't solve these simple things while my AFX can ...

But I don't have the syntax in mind ... you should look at the manual ...

Perhaps we should make this a pinned subject. It seems to come up a lot, and generates a lot of threads. It might be better if there was a single place for people to look.

Example:
1:
TI-89 titanium or TI-voyage200PLT
seq({x^3*y,x^2,x/2},x,1,3) [ENTER]

[[ Y 1 1/2 ]
[ 8*Y 4 1 ]
[ 27*Y 9 3/2 ]]
---------------------------------------------------
classPAD300
seq({x^3*y,x^2,x/2},x,1,3) [ENTER] NOP
Wrong Argument Type

Since the CP300 is cabable os doing such operation with certain functions, i.e

{a,b} -> c
sin( c)
{sin(a),sin( b )}

I don't see any reason why this complete functionality would not be included in the next OS release. I am sure CASIO is taking notes of every wish we have/bug we find.

in fact, what's the cp syntax for the above sequence(i.eclassPAD300
seq({x^3*y,x^2,x/2},x,1,3) ? I tried it with my ti 89 n got it right but got error on cp..there seems to be problem with the way it's entered into the cp, not that it can't do it!
help please. thank you.

Hi McCoy,

Not trying to be smart but did you check out the manual? It's free to download.
If that doesn't work, call tech support.

Remember, I sent a bunch of bugs to Casio regarding software version 3.03, this might be one of them!
I don't remember! :greengrin:

It's okay hellas, thanks for the information. Let me see what I've.....I think I've five different manuals for cp( 2 official casio ;one for version 3.02 and one for version 3.03.Plus two ausie written Manuals(but they were written purposely for their high schools subjects) and one which i don't know where i got it.Of all these manuals, nothing point out a syntax for doing something like the above question.I'd like to know the page if anyone knows exactly where that is in the manual. I know they have something like:generate a list in accordance with the expresion x^2 + 2x when the start value is 1,the end value is 5,and the step size is 2....of which one can do sth like seq(x^2 + 2x,x,1,5,2) exe.This is not the same as the question someone got up there.one can't use this syntax to solve the above qn and expect the right answers.I don't think(just personal opinion) that this is a bug either. I'll just play around with the stylus and see what will give the correct answers.

It's boring to see such topics every day, I don't remember english idiom but in my language they are like mushrooms which pop up every where.

Don't bother yourself.
Classpad has been far superior to all the Ti calculators since OS v3 including Ti-89 Titanium (which I own) and Ti-nSpire CAS

Sad to see Texas Instrument stop developing its products.

I am not gonna spend a penny on Ti products.
