You may be interested in fx-9960G emulator, which I have found at http://www.casio-eur...vities-engl.zip
I tried it for a while, but it is very slow, probably slower than original (not emulated one).
It seems the executable contains the ROM, so hackers can start work :-)

FX-9960G??? A new Casio calc again?

Did you have to enter a key code to link since http://www.casio-eur...om/de/downloads forbids the access ...

No, I found it in google, I clicked &downloaded.
Try link on this page, as I did exactly the same (seek to "Praktische eActivities zu den Aufgaben finden Sie in der Datei eActivities-engl.zip."

There are viruses (virii?) in the files. My Virus scanner, Norman Anti-Virus (not Norton) , quarantined them.

Probably false alert, I use Trend Micro Office Scan (today updated) and the files are clean.
Also it seems unlikely that casio puts infected files on casio official download server.

wow! thats great ...

can you tell me what processor this calc uses?
I'll start disassembling as fast as possible.
If there is a possibility of porting MLC2 to this
calc I might even buy it.

if someone does donate me a CP then I might
even code it for this model (btw. hast the CP been hacked already
or at least is the SDK capable of writing REALLY low level programs?)

wow ... a tripple post ;) sorry :P

I looked into the ROM file and it seems as if it is worthless since it only contains the eActivities so that the Emulator loads them and does not
need to import them from files every time. The emuloator does not seem
to care about the other bytes in the file.

It also seems as if you can not install ADD-Ins in the emulator since they
simply do not appear in the main menu although they get listed in the
memory menu :(

Has anyone a GOOD source for executable headers? I need to get
some info on them so that I can try to create own g1a files ...

;) well, I think I need some support by other since I'm not THIS good at
figuring out such stuff. However, I might buy a FX and sell my AFX instead
but ONLY if the FX can communicate with the FX 1.0+ Can someone tell
me if this is possible? I would really like to get my hands on this beast but
have a little lack of money ;)
And I need the comport communication between 2 calcs for the corresponding features in MLC2..

To answer your question:
You can write low level programs without any problem. We have the complete documentation about the processor, but not about the CP's hardware of course (we still need the memory mapping etc).
Note that this processor is not x86 - compatible ;)

But

ALL fx-9860G owners need MLC2!

I guess ClassPad owners don't need it that much anymore :P

well, are you sure CP users don't need it?
Maybe not now but once the TI users join in again we might gain
a massive program base.

Can someone send me the SDK, with DOC and the emulator?
Maybe I can also try to convert (at least the interpreter) to the CP.
But not just yet. Maybe somewhen in the 3rd quater of this year.
I want to have MLC2 nearly feature complete till then.

shouldn't it work with page switching using the timer? Like it does with the
AFX?

I'm interested in getting involved in low level programming of this calculator.

Can anybody tell me what CPU is used?

It depends upon the core/type as to whether I'll consider forking out the cash for one and doing some hardware/firmware inverstigation.

Cheers.

after your last post I'm not too sure if you're serious about your itnentions..

If you want to know about the CPU you'll have to find out yourself. The Casios are for the more intelligent people who can figure out things themselves, since Casio does not provide any documentation about hardware. If you want it easy stay with your TI and leave us alone.

I just downloaded this program and it's great...
I had no idea that Casio themselves would release emulators like this. I always thought it would be some third party hackers that would do it.

Anyhow, the program is great...and works just like the actual calculator.
My only complaint is that the skin (picture of the calculator) inside the program is WAY too bright and over exposed. They should've gotten a graphic artist to fix it before they implemented it into the program and released it.

I was so bothered by it that I took it upon myself to fix it. The image is now perfectly balanced with the right amount of brightness and contrast.
If anyone would like the modified version, let me know.

i would like a version of your emulator.

I would also like a version that can run add-ins (i know the fx-manager can, but i would like a simple emulator that runs an add-in)

Nah, I think he's talking about the CASIO fx-9860G Manager. The guy was bothered with the image that CASIO had taken of the fx-9860G and sticked into the emulator, so he changed it to make it more "realistic" and look like the original fx-9860G.

BTW huhn_m, you're back! :D

Just tested the new fx-9860GII manager: the emulator does support add-ins now - most likely fx-9860G manager and fx-9860G Slim manager do as well

I have been looking for an emulator that runs on windows mobile. My old fx-8700GB just died on me and I would prefer to obtain/buy an emulator for my smart phone instead of getting another bulky calculator. The HP 48gx emulator works great, but I'm so used to my old casio I am freaking out. I liked the old one better than the new models, but I could live with it :)

I know this is an old thread, but thought someone here can probably point me in the right direction.

TNX!!
