Classpad NEWCOMERS FAQ

Now, i've seen on this week that too many topics with a lot of simple questions (that really doesnt deserve an entire topic) were asked. now There is the faq:

:!: WARNING: A LOT OF QUESTIONS HAVE A REASONABLE ANSWER ON YOUR USERS GUIDE! USE IT, READ IT, EAT IT.. IF YOU STUCK, ASK HERE :!:

Q: What are the specifications of the casio graphing calcs:

Casio already have 4 topline graphic calculators:

1- Classpad 300:

-Have a large 160*240 screen ,This screen is a touchscreen (as a palm is)
-Have a 4.5~5.4 Mb flash memory to install add-ins
-512 Kb of user RAM
-Have a CAS (Computer Algebra System), so you can manipulate simbolic expressions
-This calc can do statistics, Least squares regression, confidence tests..etc
-Have an spreadsheet (similar to excel)
-You can solve any type of matrix algebra problem (LU, Gauss, Gauss Jordan, Linear Systems)
-You can solve numerically a mathematical expression (i.e sin(x)-x^2=0) and the roots of polynomials with high degrees
-The calc uses 4 AAA batteries, so you don't need a backup battery as other calcs
- The geometry applet, allows you to solve geometry problems (area calculus, geometry relationships, angles, slopes, tangents, etc) and the possibility to add animations
- 3D-2D-Statistics graphics
- Ready for programming (Casio Basic, CPLua, C/C++)
- e-activity Add-In, you can copy notes on the calc as you do by hand, using natural display and links to other calculator applications
-Emulator available
To further details classpad.net

2- Algebra FX 2.0, 2.0 Plus

- Created on 2003 i guess
- The 2.0 plus model differs from the 2.0 in 3 aditional preloaded applications, Algebra, Tutor, CAS
- 768 Kb Flash for add ins, 144Kb user RAM
- O.S (operative system) isn't upgradeable
- Can solve differential equations numerically
-Can solve linear systems up to 30 equations
- Can invert 44*44 matrix and lesser dimentions
-Have an advanced estatistics and Finnancial calculus
-You can program it on casio Basic
- The programs have access to all calc functions exept to CAS
-You can do dynamic graphics, function graphics etc
- Ready for programming (Casio Basic, Assembler, C/C++)

3- Fx9860 g / gsd

Is the new calc of casio. Faster than the AFX/CFX Series:

-1.5 Mb of flash plus SD card (up to 1gb) storage flash memory for add-ins, backups, notes..etc
-64 kb of available user RAM (up to 512kb in future O.S manipulation)
-Geometry add-in
-Programmable on basic, We're waiting for an official SDK to program the calc on c/c++
- The programs are compatible with all CFX/AFX/FX series, with small issues
- e-activity application, you can copy notes on the calc as you do by hand, using natural display and links to other calculator applications
-Have an spreadsheet (similar to excel)
-Emulator available
-Doesn't have CAS, but you can perform Numerical calculus as in the AFX series, but faster
- Natural Display, you can input expressions as you do by hand.

Well, I'm new in this forum, I have read the manuals thoroughly, but I didn't found the answer to my question, which is: When Casio will release OS 3.0 for free? :plol:

Now, seriously, your idea about the FAQ is excellent. However, most new users prefer to start a new topic without searching the forum first :(.
