Ok, next problem :D

why it is not possible with ne classpad to transform a complex number variables to polar coordinates ?

e.g. comptopol(A+j*B)

Classpad shows A+j*B instead of √(A?+B?) * e^(j arctan(B/A))

If i try to calculates comptopol(2+2j) then the classpad shows the right result: 2*√(2) * e^(45?*j)

thx

Because A may be 0 and A/B may be pi/2

???

that shouldn't be a problem for the classpad, because if i enter only:
arctan(B/A), the classpad doesn't show an error. here, "A" may be 0 as well...

the cp shows the result arctan(B/A), there is no problem...

A and B may not be real.

that's no problem, because i can enter: e.g. arctan ( j / (1+j) ) and shows no error.
the result: arctan (0,5 + j 0,5)

so, A or B can be complex.

No no no...
If you use OS 3, go to Basic Setting and check-on "Varible is real", you will got the result

yeeah, thats it :D thx

but what does this setting mean ???

if i set "Variable is real", i still can save a complex number to a variable .
what is this setting for?

thx

That means that symbolic variables without specific value are taken as reals by the CAS
