This thread is for suggestions in improving the UCPF.

I have a couple suggestions, but I need the opinions of the members here.

1. International category? - What if we added a a international category to provide support in other languages such as German, French, Spanish, etc. This would require also an addition of a new staff with the appropriate moderators for each language. I know Spanish and Latin, so if it's a good idea we can start with that.

You [Kucalc] know Latin so that one i can't do (i suck at Latin anyway, i only know some) and the only other languages i know are Italian and Indonesian, and even then i only know parts (been a long while since i spoke or wrote either).

@Fez: WOW! You know jibberish too!

Sounds cool, I'll set up the international section right now. Who wants to become a moderator and for what language?

Woah spanish is already up.
I'll probably steer clear of this project, given that the only languages that i know i only know part of (bar english).

So, no one wants to be a moderator? I'm thinking about installing a new English moderator. I live on a different hemisphere than most of you guys. ;)

As for ideas for improving the UCPF, no one else has any?

The forum could be divided into more specific sections..?
Maybe something like:

General talk:
- Site news, help and suggestions for improvement.
- Introduce yourself
- General talk
- International help

Software:
- C and C++ development
- BASIC scripts
- Share your code and projects
- Idea discussion

Hardware/embedded systems:
- Calculator hardware
- Assembly programming
- Electronics

@Andreas: Ok, I've been thinking about it. If we split the forums into more categories, would it make the forum more harder to navigate?

@E_net4: Thanks. :)

@All members: Would you guys be okay if I overlayed the forum with a portal? Specifically this one: http://phpbbireland....orum/portal.php It would make the posting of news possible. With that, I could post news to recognize and give honor to currents projects that current members are working on. It might strengthen the community and get peoples attentions to projects which they may find interesting.

I think it would make it easier if you want to expand later.
A "general discussion" board is also handy to have in each category. Right now, there are not enough members to have many more categories (those I suggested would work ok).

Good point. Do the rest of you guys concur with this?

Also, speaking of not enough members, we need to get more. I know that there are people out there who own a fx-9860G and would like to program it. It would be awesome to see a great variety of projects going on.

It was because my mum had her credit card stolen so we cancelled it. Internet could no longer draw money from it. We phoned up when we got a new card and they reinstated the internet. Only to find out the our modem needs to be reconfigured so we had to phone up the D-Link company so they could guide us through it XD.
It took ages but i have the net again WOOT XD
