I've got some sad news for the UCPF. After 3 months of being online, the UCPF will cease.

The admins @ casiocalc.org have contacted me about UCF's dying status:

The goal of ucnetwork.com and casiocalc.org was to create an international resource center where one could get all the answers and the help about casio calculators he could need. Casiocalc/Ucnetwork was the heart of third party development and hacking for almost a decade...

I've been a UCF member for a long time, before UCPF and even CasioKingdom existed. I would really like to see the UCF rise up again. They and I have negotiated: I am now an Admin of UCF.

As for the future of the UCPF, the UCPF will most likely cease function soon. We're trying to currently find a way to transfer UCPF's database to the UCF.

That sucks! But dont worry, we'll recover from this and everything will normalize if not be better.

They and I have negotiated: I am now an Admin of UCF.

Thats good! Being an admin is always good.

No! Lets still keep UCPF! Even if you move on, I will still be here (when possible) to admin this website (*hints to kucalc to possibly make another member an admin to help while Im gone*) so this site will still live on! I've found more help here than I have on ANY OTHER website Ive ever been to EVER (not just casio calculator stuff!)! This site should/will live on! If I am alive, I will do everything I physically can to make sure this site stays alive.

Nope. Kucalc is the one who made UCPF. I don't mean made as in the creator I mean he is the one who made most of us come here in the first place XD. If he's gone most ppl will follow XD. I will be checking out the UCF so I can see if I would join XD

What made the UCPF awesome and great were the people here. You guys are awesome. We had friendly people here and we gave support to each other.

Hopefully we could bring some of that to the fading UCF. When the UCF began, it was just like the UCPF. It was the #1 site back years ago. Time went on and now the UCF is dying slowly. This time now, we can try putting in some new blood into the UCF and restore it back to glory. We can try getting people very interested in CASIO calculators.

I never said pick one or the other, (hell, I originally registered for UCF but then came here) I check both sites (this one more than the other) so you guys can easily do the same! So do both but dont kill this one, it deserves to live (almost as much as UCF [IMO]). So let it live dont kill it

PS: I'll help contribute as much as I can to UCF but UCPF has to live

But we could all hang out at the UCF.

Just because the UCPF runs on a more advance and cool forum software (phpBB3), doesn't mean we can't still do the same things on the UCF (well except embed YouTube and Flash videos into our posts....)

I think thats great, I would much prefer one site rather then lots of smaller independant ones.

Advertising a new forum in this forum is the same as what happened when casiokingdom was advertised in the already existing UCF casiocalc.org forum.

Why is UCF casiocalc.org a desert ? - because all the current generation of casio users set up their own forum casiokingdom - led by Sean.

Going further back in time, the casiocalc.org forum itself was set-up partly as a power struggle to take over from the previously existing casio-program-avenue forum.

If you think the current situation is annoying - then it is nothing compared to the vandalism, sabotage and coercion that shut down the CPA forum to create the casiocalc.org forum.

As they say - what goes around comes around.

Personally I think that the UCF and casiokingdom and the new UCPF would be better off if they all merged together, however I don't believe for a second that that will happen - it would be like expecting America,Australia and so on to rejoin the British Empire.

All the current forums will fall by the wayside just like the other forums - UCF, CPA, AT forum, various mailing lists and usenet have done in the past.

Sure it sucks because its not your own site etc. but i think its much better to keep it all in one place... Hehe now try get sean and CK to join..........no chance of that! or is there?

lol. casiokingdom was the very first website i had been to when I first got my calc at the begining of this year. When I got into programming I stayed there because it was the only website I knew. I thought it was the only Ausie one. And then I heard Kucalc talk about this and then I came here. CK is more of a community know as all the actual programmers that answer my questions have gone XD.

Personally I think CK is falling. The online activity isn't what it used to be. I asked a question 6 months ago and it's still waiting to be answer . I agree with whoever said that, all the sites should just merge into one site. Then there would be no struggle for being the dominent site, and everyone would know where to go. And then you really could boast about having the biggest program database because it would have all of them

That's why the UCPF and UCF are going to merge. Another admin at casiocalc.org is trying to help me transfer the UCPF's database to the UCF.

I'll try sending out emails to all the members of the UCPF about the merger.

imho a merge with ck would be great

lately i sense a grouping, a formation, whats it called in english :( :|

I would like every casio developper communicating, that's one of the main reasons i choose ck as my base, so all users could come to one site and ask me things, about why i programmed so lousy and stuff :P

I would also like a merge with PlaneteCasio (UCPF+UCF+CK+JeuxCasio) i know that would mean an english/french and maybe spanish forum but that would also be an advantage, a spanish mod could ask me in english aboute some feature in CalcCity and translate it to a spanish user for example.

anyway, i would really like to see some more collaboration instead off concuring eachother (is concuring a word? i mean fighting eachother in like a professional way)

Know this, my calccity would not have been possible without your and vanhoas help...

And it is not finished, i understand about some other post some users would like new (other) features, i will implement them (i have also some new disasters) and i would like someone with economic knowledge to help me to tweak the economics

:) i know my post seems blunt, but remember i am dutch :)

It seems I have to "do the reg".

Still, don't worry, I might be in UCF with you.

F***! I hate reality!!! For me personally, I would join UCF very easily and let UCPF die IF they changed their forum software (downtime < 4 hours [takes a little bit to convert the databases

Hello everyone,

I'm the webmaster of casiocalc.org, I would like to reassure all of you here, the goal of this merge is not to destroy your community but to make it stronger by joining forces.

I've been very busy this last year due to some changes in my life, it seems it has been the same for the other administrators... So casiocalc.org has declined due to the lack of new blood comming in.
We've always tried to give responsabilities to the most active people of our website, Kuclac should have been given such responsabilities a long time ago... I aplogize for that.

About our forum, it's not InvisionFree but a fully licensed Invision Power Bulletin Board with many execellent features compared to PhpBB.

I already said to Kucalc that those of you who are moderators here can get the same status on Casiocalc.org and join the admin team later.

I'll find a way to integrate the topics and posts of the UCPF, to facilitate the transfer, it would be great if all of you could register on the UCF with the same member name (if you already have an account with a different name, I can change it).

Thanks,

2072 / John
