I just open my CP300 and I found the flash memory, it is samsung 434 K9F2808Q0C. I like to know it is posible to change it for a better flash. A one with more capacity.

Mierr!!!!

So you need to unsolder it and then put another fresh one.. You can damage te PCB isn't it?. or the flash comes in a socket?

I?ve downloaded the data sheet of the K9F2808Q0C flash, it seems that it is possible to use a bigger one but; does the OS support bigger flash?

if you've got plenty of money , why dont you try it .....
if it works, it'll be a great improvement ....
but before that make sure the new flash is the same as the old one in addressing, pin specifications, Ioh, Iol, Iih , Iil & a lot of other stuf.
get some help from a hardware engineer ....

I love the CP300 but ...............

How is possible that exist a Ultra PC (Everun) with almost the same dimension of the CP300 with 32 GB of Data Storage or more, 512 MB RAM and 500MHz CPU. Why Casio can not upgrade the hardware?

I'm not saying to make the CP300 into a Ultra PC, because no one will pay 800 dollars for a calculator, but Casio can upgrade RAM at least. And upgrade BASIC, I can find limitation on diff( and integral( and concatenate string with expr, etc

Is not so easy.

First of all, the easiest way to improve memory is to search for one of the same manufacturer (preferable), with similar capabilities but bigger storage area. Both IC's must have same pin number and pin functions must be the same in order to use the same pad on PCB.

Also you must check if its possible to address the new storage areas of the new memory, checking if the bits that control the address from the uC can address the entire memory locations. I dont know if the OS limit the memory location address.
