mi correo es hk_acosta at hotmail (dot) com

gracias por su atencion y su pronta respuesta estare pendiente.

pd: el titulo era Classpad 330 A Mistake?? con signo de pregunta pero no lo pude correjir

TRANSLATION

Well to the point.
I bought a classpad 330 because i need to solve equations like this example:
8x-i2x + i4y = 0
6Y + + i4y x = 8.66 + i5

but I am so frustrated and I can not do this with the classpad 330, i have been using it 12 hours and i have not found how to do it, maybe i will replace it for a voyage or something like that ...

if someone can help me with any program to solve these equations i will be so thankful ..

my email is hk_acosta at hotmail (dot) com

Thank you for your attention and your prompt response pending.

pd: the title was Classpad 330 A Mistake? to sign but wondered what I could not correct

Hi Fast and Furier,

I don't mean to be rude but:

1. Did you read the manual?
2. Speak with Casio Tech Support?

I've read on Wikipedia that Software version 3.03 has a bug or two.

Check out those sources man. Repost if you don't get an answer.

hello fast and furier,
what part of maths is this question from? I understand it's simultaneous equation, but what area in maths is it from? I'm just being curious buddy. And I think you are right on the cp thing...there's nothing in its manual that looks like the question you have posted up there.
Thank you.

And before asking, read the manual in the CD given with the ClassPad. You should not complain about a missing feature until you are 100% sure it is not there. Read the documentation!

Alternatively, you can use your brain. This kind of equation system is really easy to solve.

{ax+by=c
{cx+dy=e

Ah it's just a linear system of equations:
8x-i2x+i4y=0
6y+i4y+x=8.66+i5

As in betoe's translation it's a non-linear System
8x-i2x + i4y = 0
6Y + + i4y x = 8.66 + i5

^_^

well, it makes sense now. I was wondering what what i2, i4 etc means. I don't want to sound rude, but it's kind of a strange way of writing 2i,4i etc.Having known that now, I can offer another alternative methods to solving x and y.Hereis what i did:
Sove({8x-2ix+4iy=0,6y+4iyx=8.66+5i}, {x,y}) EXE
I got four solutions (two values each for x and y ) but they are different to the solutions of vanhoa. i don't know why. Too bad,I had to wait for 6 minutes for my cp to give me these solutions! one of the solutions is x=(-sqrt(16580100 +974400i)*i/3400)+3i/4 or 0.339-0.495i. Tired to type the rest.lol.

What's your OS version vanhoa? How you have shown your working up there(in the first screen, though our answers are different) is amazing. what did you use that showed all the steps?
Thanks buddy.

The above result was from OS 3.0, and below was the result from OS 3.03

There you go! the solutions now are the same as what i got.Now what's the possible explanation for the difference in answers? bug ,I guess? And if so, which version have it...3.0 or 3.03? I think when we join the casio hate vandwagon, they won't hold something back for us...this is misleading.I wonder why my buddy amost failed his specalist maths exam...because version 3.03 is there to give students wrong answers. i know for sure it's the OS 3.03 thing that have the problem. i'm scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
thanks.

oh ok, ..but why are the first steps different? Sometimes you may be ask to leave your answer in a crude(new word) form, i mean they say sometimes that don't simplify your answer..so in that case if one student uses cp OS 3.0 and the other one uses cp OS 3.03 find the un-simplified values of x and y, i guess one of the students(unlucky one) may be marked wrong. In my opinion,I think it's terrible. The two steps, together with their values, should be the same or at least close.
By the way vanhoa, how long did it take you to get these answers? The first and the seconds steps took my cp 6 mins each but the third steps is taking my cp ....oh i don't know...maybe two hours!.it's now an hr and 20 minutes and it's still busy..It might have frozen, i think.
thank you.

I tried with CP Manager only, not ClassPad Handheld.
There are no result can be crude (as you mentioned), as there are many ways to solve an equation or a system of equations. If the result is non-reducible at some steps and then the result is a combination of non-reducible elements, that mean the answer's form may different.

I see..well i used the word crude loosely to mean 'not simplified'. My cp have solved it at last in approximation form (one hr and 24 minutes.)I don't think we can have such a question in exam since it's gonna take quite long time to get solved with a normal calculator. Thanks for the clarification buddy.lol it's funny, the one we've solved is different from the equations posted by fast and furier and it was a little bit harder because it's incorrect.
i think one of the equations is wrong(just an opinion) because 6y+4iy+x can't be=8.66+i5 if 8x-2ix+4iy=0..
one of the the eqns in the translated part is obviously incorrect' too(because if 8x-i2x+i4y=0
,then 6y+4iyx is likely not to be=8.66+5i)and i think that's why it took my calculator one hour to figure out the solutions.
in both sets of expressions,it looks like the second eqn doesn't hold on conditions dictated by the first eqn. cheers.
