well, the last competition was in 2003, now we're in 2004. Though, it's only been 3 months or something (heh). Basically, it can be regarded two ways

Personally, my vote would go to a new competition soonish

I think that Ck says this:
If there will be another game competition, you must do a game specially for that comp., you cant submit a game that was already created before (one of the competition rules).

If you have any good ideas to help Crimson with the new competition, help him here.
Maybe this time it could be Programs & Games, and so on.

im not so convinced, it seems like a good idea to have a programs and games comp, but how would you mark the games? if it were done on helpfulness, triangle solvers would win hands down, wheras stuff like my resonance program wouldn't be that helpful to people as there isnt a huge demand for it.

Well one idea could be that the admins put the bases for do a program, parameters (of which commands use etc...) for make a program for a specific purpose. The winner could be the guy who use better programmation techniques, or make a fastest program.

[My 2 Cents]
You must be cautious about making contests as it can lead to a paradox such that contests will lead to decreasing release ratio of new games/progs because many will sit, do nothing and wait till next competition begins. What about judging ALL programs/games that were done in this year and publishing the results at the end of the year?

Roe.

you mean you guys are planning to have a year long comp?? I think that's a bit long. :(

also, i think it should be only a game comp as programs are really hard to judge. eg. progs that i make are only useful to those who do the same subjects as me, and not to the judges. the comp should be GAMES ONLY.

This is just a proposition (say, to stimulate the discussion :D ). I am not saying that it is perfect solution. And just as ck I don't like the idea of introducing programs competition.

I think having a competition of a few months stimulates people to work. Wasnt that one of the reasons fo the origional competition? Having a year long competition doesnt inspire much.
