:D It?s nice to see that the UCF contest is back.

I hope that in this year the participants, send their games and programs for this contest don?t have the same ?bad? results of the last year, very much participants give up?. :huh:

:blink: Some people have asked me how I made my games ( Gang Figh2 and Rad Racer ), well I made it not to beat others BASIC games but to beat the AMS/C games, and I thing I have made it, not in speed but in the graphics. B)

And for the 2004 UCF competition, be prepared, be very prepared because Brazzucko will give to you a unique game never see in BASIC or AMS/C. :D

:P And in this time it will work on the AFX and in the CFX :lol:

I won't delete this topic for only one reason.
The Reason: one of the prizes of the last year's competition, was the bragging rights, and this is bragging all right. :lol:

:) It?s not better for all if the UCF makes at the end of the year a selection of the best games of the year, and not a contest whit dead line? B)

I think we should just pick the best programs/games made in the year, not have a competition

It seems that making a few months long competition is more motivating for people to actually "start coding" then it would be with judging all-year games/programs.
Ofcourse there is one obvious drawback - people wait till the competition starts and won't release anything before.
But I think that even with this dead season we will get more new "products".

Roeoender.

I think the competition is a good idea. Actually when I signed up, I didn't know what I was going to do. But I knew I had to do something so it forced me to come up with a creation, and now I think that it is going to be a good one! :)

Watch out Brazzucko! The CFX is CK's and my domain!

I've already finished my game, but I'm adding a second half just because you were cocky! :lol2: The first half features a medieval font, a range of enemies, dedicated bosses and a unique score and unlock system. And yes, I'm still talking about the CFX and yes, it's still fast and yes, that's just the first half.

I'll probably finish the second half by the next school holidays in October.

Well, I have high confidence in my game. It's not completly original, but nothing like it has ever been done on the casio (not that I can find anyway!) I would also like to know, where can I find a copy of gang fight 2 from last years competition?

Whoa! I didn't know it'd be so easy, I've finished the second half of my game! Now I can just type up the readme (only 2 pages) but HOW DO I GET A SCREENSHOT!!! :profanity: For the last few programs on my site, I've had to draw them by hand, some I don't even think match. But the biggest challenge will be typing it up, (BTW, its exactly 10000 bytes :hammer:) however this allows me to check for errors while I type.

Does anyone know a program where typing is easier than FA-123 (other than CasioCom)?

two ways i do it (i prefer the second)

FA123
PC - press screenshot
CALC - <span class=MENU' /> <span class=ln' /> <span class=F6' /> <span class=F2' />
CALC - run program to take a screenshot of
CALC - Press [f<->d]

casioCOM
CALC - <span class=MENU' /> <span class=ln' /> <span class=F6' /> <span class=F2' />
CALC - run program to take a screenshot of
CALC - Press [f<->d]

note: the calc cant be in a loop waiting for a getkey command, to take a screenshot of that, press [AC/on] to break the program, then ptake the shot of that :)

:P If you can?t do what Andy said, just add this command in your program:

StoPict 1

This will store in the Picture memory one, one ?screenshot? of your game, probably you already know that. ;)

Don't worry about it, I think you misunderstood, I can't take a screenshot because my cable socket is broken, but you've got a point there, I usually use the AC/ON method. Any I've just finished it in Paint, finished the readme and I've updated my site (800 visitors B)).

And I'll probably just use FA-123, with => in the clipboard and 'view calculator' on.
