I have an issue with my calc which isn't that very important but it is very annoying.
Since my calc is old, a good amount of dust has somhow found its way into the display window.
For some years ago, I tried to open up my calculator to be able to dust off the display underneath the protective window, but to no avail. It simply doesn't seem to be a way to unscrew the thing. I removed the screws around the battery compartment but the shell is still shut tight. Is it brute force which is required here or what? Or something else I've overlooked?
Feel rather stupid.

Ah thanx!
Good thing someone already located the snap-ins.
My german language is all but fresh, but I was able to understand most of the instructions nevertheless.

I suppose I should need to backup my stuff first.

Most interesting.
Now the real question, how do you open your 9860?

Thanks Master. It worked like a charm... well almost. I succeede to damage the shell somewhat and I had some troubles getting the calculator online again. After several attempts reopening the calculator to make it show some signs of life, the display was awfully bright and when I entered the program mode, the screen started to show some strange white noise or turbulent pixels if you will. After some additional attempts - feeling a bit discourage I might add - I finally decided to press yes to the "reset all" question. After that, everything seemed to be in order. Really weird.
Unfortunately, I forgot to backup a 3D tank game I was working on, so I have to start from scratch with that one. Oh well.

No sweat Master!
I used common sense and presumed that the data would be lost, since the backup battery will get disconnected as soon as the shell is parted and thus inevitably cause data loss. So before I would open the shell for real, I decided to make a major backup on all programs I hadn't written down yet. However in my eagerness to get the cleaning over with, I forgot just that program.
My fractal generator, automation & control analyzer and stuff like that was successfully updated though.
Now, thinking about the lost program, it doesn't concern me much now as I think the tank game would be unbearably slow. I'm afraid I've reached the limit for what can be achieved by the basic language in terms of speed.
So don't bang your head, please! :)
