Hi,
I've installed Casio Classpads Pro V3.05 on serveral end
computers and can't seem to get the program running without
administrator privileges. Is it possible to run the program without
administrator privileges? Currently the end computers don't give
administrator access to any of the users on them. And it is a pain to
have to remote the computer just to elevate the program privileges
every time a teacher needs them. Could you please advise?

Thank you
Karl

TSFX, Hello and welcome to UCF! Introduce yourself if interested here!

You're getting a strange error; For installing, of course you need administrator privileges (and you got them, right?), but for running there is no need! I'm currently running 3.06 without admin rights or something on Win7 64-bit, but I don't remember any of the previous versions needing admin levels either.

Can you try updating to version 3.06 (download from https://edu.casio.com/dl/ ) ? If you have purchased 3.05, this update is free.

Hi there.
Thank you for your reply.
I do have administrator privileges for the system and can install fine without an error.
It's when I try to execute the program that I have issues.
Nothing comes up. If I run as administrator it works fine.
I've looked in task manager to see if a process is spawned, but I see nothing.
I thought it might have been the group policy I had on the computers, but I have turned it off for testing purposes and still nothing.
When I run as administrator it asks me "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" Once I put in the administrator details, it works fine. But without them, it doesn't look like if fires at all.
I look through the event viewer and can't find any reference to Classpad either.
I've looked in Administrative events, application and system. All contain nothing about classpads.

Anyway, I updated to 3.06 and I'm still having the same issue.

Have you tried running it from the command line?

Ok, sorry guys.
I did some more testing and worked out that it's a domain issue not a program issue.
I removed a test computer out of the domain and everything worked as it should. So thank you for your help.

Cheers
Karl

OK. I had in mind tampering with policies and manifests to give permanent administrator access to the program, but since I'm not a big guru at these, I didn't suggest it.

Glad it fixed though.
