Can programmes written for a FX-880P be used on a FX-5800P?

The BASIC programs are pretty much the same throughout all of CASIOs calculators, I'm pretty sure it will either work straight away or you will have to make a minor change to the code.

I own the Casio fx-4800p, and I love it, it has a special flavour. 4500 bytes is enough for me. I bought it because in Spain is much easier and cheaper to buy than the 5800p, it was very popular here.

The Casio fx-5900p is a great idea!

The Casio fx-9860g SD is a great calculator, I´m saving money to buy it.

Regards

fx-5800P's Casio Basic is subset version of fx-9860GII's.

Casio Basic of fx-5800P, fx-9860G, fx-9860GII, fx-cg10/20 has Getkey and powerful Locate command and you can use evaluation of value as FALSE (zero) and TRUE (not zero) just like ordinary programming languages.

See an example;

While Getkey
WhileEnd

This 2 lines code dose propery work!

Compared with fx-9860GII / fx-cg10/20, fx-5800P does not have strings commands, graphics commands, no Xor operator, etc, but almost rest of them are same.

I always say that Casio Basic of fx-5800P, 9860G, 9860GII and cg10/20 is new Generation of Casio Basic.

In the future, please do not necropost (posts on topic older than ~6 months old). I have moved these posts to a new thread to keep the old topic intact.

Ok, Forty-Two, since now, I´ll create a new post if the old post is older than 6 months.
