Hello to everyone

Yesterday, I´ve took a look to this thread:

http://community.cas...ation-fx-5800p/

I´ve programmed a similar version for my Casio fx-9750GII with SH4 processor using Casio Basic, with some modifications.

I didn´t overclocked or hacked my calculator.

My question is if the processor can be burned after days of calculus (25ºC of temperature in High School and my house), or if the screen can be damaged for refreshing millions of times.

Today, I´ve run it during the Science of the Earth and the Enviroment and English classes (2h), and it have done 110000 cycles of the main loop, I´ve stop it for precaution, but some of my classmates (and me) we are very interested in run it during a week (5 days of classes) with a very poweful new batteries.

Do you think I can break my calculator (or screen) doing it?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Don't worry about the screen, that can stay on for a lot longer without breaking.

I don't know about burning the CPU though, I'd say it is highly unlikely to happen if you're running a BASIC program. BASIC programs don't use the full power of the SH4A CPU, only some add-ins can do that.

Thank you for your answer, I´ll run it, and in the remote possibility, that it breaks, I´ll execute the warranty on Amazon.es and they will replace it.

I´m worried about the screen, because the pi approximate value is refreshing a lot of times by second,  (it changes). I don´t know the engineering of this LCD screens, so I had doubt.

Regards

I´ve bought a Casio fx-9750g first model for 3.4 dolars in a local market. I´ve been lucky  B) . This calculator is less powerful (0.06W) than the gII model (0.35W), this will help to the baterries to last long and it will warm less, and if it bircks, I won´t loss a lot of money.

The next week, after the 4 day holidays that we have, I´ll test it until the batteries go down.

Regards

You really only need to worry about heat if you're overclocking. At the default frequency nothing bad will happen except your battery will run out faster.

You don't need to worry about the screen refreshing a lot of times per second because it is actually not refreshing that fast, the screen is changed a lot more times per second on some of the game add-ins.

Thank you for your answers, the next week I'll run the program until the batteries go down. I store the pi value in a variable.
