I read on muhamed's site (www.geocities.com/algbrafx2) that the CAS of the AFX2.0 PLUS includes list, matrix and vector functions...
I currently own an AFX2.0, and just wondered... what kind of functions are these exactly? can you do Matrix transformations, determinant, cofactors, minors, and stuff like that... and for vectors, does it have 3d or only 2d vectors?
Anyway.. why the H*** hasn't CASIO included these function in their CAS2 add-in???

as for exactly which of those functions the CAS system can do, I'm not TOTALLY sure, but I know it can do determinates and cofactors and some other fun stuff, but casio didn't make it easy on the user. I forget how exactly off the top of my head, but they can.
As for your second question about why they didn't include the functions in CAS2, that should be obvious. Casio has a real bad tendency to get lazy at all the wrong moments. The hardware running the casio calculators seems to be superior to that of TI's (and I base that off strictly using both and seeing which is faster and more compliant, not tech terms), but often enough Casio doesn't take full advantage of that. The CFX-9850G series could have blown the TI-86 out of the water if Casio hadn't stopped short. They still are doing to the same thing with this series of calcs it seems.

I have a AFX2.0 plus ( and a damaged afx2.0)
The AFX2.0 plus CAS have much more features than the afx2.0 one
we can deal with matrixes (eigvl, eigenvectors, row operations, determinants, factorization LU(well, i have a program to this in a cfx9850 and in a afx2.0 - now i dont need the pogram ), and much more...in my opinion it wasnt a minor software upgrade (but it still can be improved)
why didnt they put this in cas2? I think i can give you a reason . Have you seen the size of that cfx file? Probably those engineers would made that cfx have 700Kb . Who would want that?
(after fixing my afx2.0, it will be my new hacking toy)

Err...you wouldn't have space for anything more!!!!![and maybe ...just maybe, they will release a CAS3 version with all that- as you know, they are lazy]

wait, I didn't even know there was a plus version of the afx2.0, what software did they upgrade? was there a mem difference? I obviously haven't kept up, I don't have my calc in front of me so I don't even know if I have the plus version or not

The REAL diference is that you can upgrade your calc O.S. , some of the applications you would download from casio web site now are built in.
