why didnt they give the classpad some bluetooth features.
i know it would be a little bit more expensive then, but the things you could use it for would be great (just think of pupil loading stuff from the teacher machine, the teacher manipulating pupils cp's).

I think Casio is way behind the time.

Who still want's a com port? Well it's nonsense to discuss the dis- and advantadges here now. And I don't want to do so now, i've got loads of stuff to do.

but thats my view about casio now.
Why arent they opened to new technology? why doesnt the classpad has a lcd display.
I know it would be more a pda than, but you dont need the cp if it's features are very limited. (wow it has a touchscreen, that has my 5 year old palm too, plus my palm can do all the things your classpad can do).

tell me why?
Who needs a limited/bad pda?

Edit: Except you true casio fanatics :P

its limted cause they want it to still be useable in a classroom, can you imagine the chaos a bluetooth enabled calc would cause? kids would be IM'ing and cheating left and right.

i agree, in aust we are only allowed to use CFX calcs. a classpad with blue tooth would be too much.

is there a problem to disable it and set a password on it?
No? lol, it's quite easy to avoid cheating, so this is a quite bad argument.

Would Casio think a little they could create great calcs.
i wouldnt say the cfx / afx series isnt good, but they are too old.

and what about the lcd display and some more ram / hdd?

bye, thats my 2 cents. :P

I think it doesnt have BlueTooth for the same reason it doesnt have a color screen, play mp3s, or have big expandable memory: It's just a calculator. And to answer the question of the thread ,I have:

TI-89
HP48GX (2 256k cards+2mb card)
AFX 2.0 (sent off to the repair center (again))
HP-100LX (1mb version)
PB-2000C (Just got it today!)

Anyone know where I can get a CFX-9970 cheaply?

No, I got it back like 2 months after I sent it. Im just frustrated because it will be 2 more months most likely. When I sent in my TI-89 it took like 9 days from the time I put it in the mail until it got back to my house I dont recall what version of the operating system the TI had on it when I got it back but at least it is upgradable.

I've had a fx 7400g+ for about a year and a half, and use pocket excel a lot.

Lately I've been thinking of picking up an HP 100/200lx. I'd be interested in any comments on it.

Definitely want a Class Pad. Started playing arround with Math Xpander on my em500. What are the differences between it and the Class Pad?

Also (seeing as I'm getting off topic), anyone heard of a pocket device made specifically with APL in mind...
