we need more definitave results, so try again.

the third option means that there will be a small amount of temporary pinned topics for the anouncements or for things that are of importance only for a time. all of these topics will be removable after a week with no posts (except under special circumstances).

Do you mean having pinned topics in the main forum, and moving them to the sub forum after a while (wich I would support),
or do you mean having a sub forum with important topics, some of which are pinned (which sounds strange)?

lol, I mean that the pinned topics will be in the main (normal forum), if they become "important" yet relatively unactive they will be placed in here, if they are not that important (anouncements and such) and become inactive for a week they will be unpinned but remain in the normal forum.

aka:
Important Topics are long term topics.
pinned topics are temporary.

I prefer the one that crimson says, hot topics in their respective forum, then move it to he important topics.

i actually dislike this new system. here is my suggestion:

1) no pinned topics in this main forum
2) Current Hot topics pinned in the important topics forum
3) after a week (say) with no new posts, pinned topics are unpinned
