hi guys, my friend Neo_9 (Jasonic Programs) and I have just finished a simple but fun soccer shootout game for the CFX.

However this game is special as not only is it the first finished game Neo_9 has made, but it has a highscore page where you can input your name when you get in the top 3 scores. I think this is the first game on the CFX with name storing ability on it's highscore page.

Please try our game. I hope you enjoy it.

here are some screenshots:

You can download it from my site.

Unpinned by Andy.davies, was it really necessary to pin it???

well I have to say that there have already been games with such a highscore feature. :)

And I agree with andy. Don't use you mod power to promote your programs.

kingdom, I have a racing game with a nice high score feature, its an AFX game so the play quality sucks on the CFX but the high score system is nice. i'll see if i can find it and send it to you.

@ Bob, my site tells the file size ~2000 bytes.

@Crimson, does your hs use letters or just numbers? Do you know of any CFX games with a hs page that has names? I am curious, as i can't think of any.

Thanks for posting about ck and my game. Warning: this game can be very addictive. One kid has a hs of 19 goals : either it is too easy :nonono: or this guy is a fanatic :banghead: . Personally i dont think its too easy but tell me what you think.

btw Neo, do you still want your name changed to just Neo? as you should ask the admins and they will change it for you.

Anyway, guys (CFX owners), you should all try to beat 19, as i will soon, i hope! btw this guy who got 19 is my school friend and is the member "cucumber" here. stupid name! hehe

It doesnt matter. Im fine with Neo_9 B) . This so called "cucumber" exploits our games and finishes (or trys to) within 24 hours of getting them. You must post your hs if you beat 19 (my max is about 6 :lol2: )

demo of my hs system:

-------------------------
CRM            2000  S
CRM            1000  E
CRM              500  M
CRM              250  H
CRM                10  H
-------------------------

so a 3 letter initial, score (auto sorted), and the difficulty. it was also password protected so that the scores can not be reset by a jelous friend.

======EDIT=====
Nice Crimson, could you please post the code so that i can see your method of doing it? BTW is it written in Basic?

i agree, but usually password don't protect people from cheating anyway, unless it's very well coded.

Crimson, could you send me your game so that i can try the hs page for myself?....and perhaps steal your code LOL

of course its in basic ;)

keep in mind i did this a loooong time ago (I think 10th grade) so its not going to be the best ;)
dont bother trying to play it, its way to slow on the CFX. (Its fun on the AFX though)

its in a package with some other racing games i made, no clue how finished they are or how good they are.

Program: PRORC
RACE PACKAGE

(i dont mind if you steal the code, feel free to copy paste it if you like)

-----------EDIT-----------
it should be a simple matter to expand the number of letters it can contain to 5 or 6

I would have got mine changed to Genesis with a capital G. But then you'd think I'm a Freudian with obsessive-compulsive disorder and schitzophrenia.

Again with the cheating? I sometimes find myself swearing at games for making things so hard but when I finish it, their SOOOOO boring. Come on, sure cheating is good, but don't you get a kick out of being able to complete a game? CK, your games are very 'mathematical'.

thx Genesis, if that was supposed to be a compliment. :D

i agree with you about cheating, as i have had experience at school with cheating and my game Kingdom. when i first released it, everyone was having great fun playing it. I think at least a tenth of the grade were playing it.

However once someone found out how to edit the matrix files besides me, cheating began to occur. it wrecked the fun out of my game.. and soon, not many played it. The same thing happened with Star Wars Empire too.

however i was glad that a few actually finished the game without cheating in both my rpgs:lol:

but my point is that cheating = no fun! Just what Genesis said.
So i don't really care if people cheat in my games, as they are just being stupid. why cheat when you want to have as much fun as possible in class..lol.

So, to all programmers out there, forget about putting passwords on your games, as someone will always get around it. And the worst thing is......you have wasted like 1000 bytes on a cheat protect system which failed!! :(
It's frustrating.

btw Crimson, your anti-cheat didn't work, as i just edited the matrix file of your game and added my name to the top of the hs list. Do you guys see my point?? :D

Why are applic matrixes so boring? I kindof hoped theyed have something to do with the movie, besides the random jap characters constently scrolling down the page.

its not an anti-cheating, its an anti-reset. the people i lend my calc to know nothing, so I dont worry about them figguring out a diffrent way. also, you have to know the keycodes (i think thats what i did...)

btw: did you initialize the matrix at the beging? i forgot to mention it. (hold <span class=DEL' />)

someday I'll write a anti-cheating file save method for you guys...

yeah, i figured out your matrix creation key, as i checked the code and i remember from the past when you and bob let me try it out.

anyway, don't worry about anti-cheat, did you read my long post?? it's pointless.

yeah, i know and agree, but i hate it when people brag about how they beat your game so easy after they just cheated... things like that.

I don't agree with you ... a simple anti-cheat system will be useless for someone who know his calc but it prevent the majority from cheating ...
And if you make an anti-cheat system more elaborate and harder to understand it will discourage a part of the others ...
So, at the end, only a few ones will be able to cheat ...

Yes, and I liked Monk... :( Well, I chose to do a case study on it for English last year. The cases are quite good but CSI has all the action (a NORMAL show).

Anti-cheat was fun and good to start off with and I don't resent any of it. But it is time to grow up and make games for the fun of making games and play games for the fun of playing games.

ATTENTION: i just found a small bug in the hs page of ISS, so i have fixed it. The debugged version is on my site. Problem solved! ;)

Don't worry, the bug doesn't muck the game up, only that you can write 6 letters in the hs page instead of 5, and then an arg error occurs.

btw what's you best score?? No one has told me yet. You guys have played it, right?? :D
