Ok I bought this calculator in the fall and it helped me to get a B in my college algebra. I am stuck though on how to do quadratic equations. I dont understand the manual (what the heck is a degree??) and I need to figure this out. Im not sure what else to do- Also are there any chemistry programs available?
Thanks so much!!!!

(I am learning english)

Hello, well, you can solve quadratic equation in CAS mode using "Solve(" command, how to use: <span class=F1' />, 5:solve, then type in the cuadratic equation.
Sample: Solve(X2+3X-4 then press <span class=EXE' /> (note: the first "2" is exponent.

?Chemistry Programs?:
look at: http://www.casioland... chimie&categ=2 these are french.

Thank you, how do I get 2 answers though? It only gives me one, and I need at least 2 for the quadratics- Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I dont know how to use the tutorial mode, it wont let me put in my own problems. This calculator is incredible and has saved my grade so many times, but Im still learning how to use it. Anyone know where I can buy a cable to connect to the pc?

for the tutor you have to highlight the equation you want then hit input, otherwise it just gives you a random equation. the CAS mode you can just hit solve( then type in your eqation and hit enter. the CAS is less limted than the tutor but the tutor will show you the steps.

Thanks for the info- I just need to pass the class so to be honest I dont care how to do the problems :D Many times when I go in the CAS and hit solve it says no solution, when there is one. I love this calculator, my husband brought me home a TI 83 plus and I didnt like it. Im very attached to this one and I know it can do it, I will try the CAS mode again. Now I just need a cable, anyone heard of Larrys casio cables?

anyone heard of Larrys casio cables?

not personally....

if you or anyone you know can solder, i would suggest making a cable, it isnt a difficult circuit to make, and there are instructions, PCB's etc available on my site.

dont worry about it, im the most anti-math nerd ever :)

btw: make sure you have the CAS mode in Complex mode to get the correct solutions all the time, plus only use x and y for variables in the equations, sometimes others can cause problems.

example:
solve(t^2+t+1=0)
should be input as
solve(x^2+x+1=0)

or you can do this and it should work
solve(t^2+t+1=0,t)

You can use other variables but make sure thay are not set... Else their value will replace the variable in the expression.

no, it still wont work if you dont include the comma (,A) afterward... sometimes it will give you a sentax error too.
