@crimson: thanks
if you goto My Site and on the main menu, click on the heading 'Link Cables' and then on 'Unofficial PC 2 Casio'. that will give you a long page on how to build link cables.
If you have the facility to make PCB's then there are two different format layouts you can download.
if you need more help, contact me (any of the buttons at the bottom of my post) or post in the forum
===EDIT===
there is also some links to the building and testing guides which i have writen

---OR---
do like me: send a mail to your country's own casio webpages, i.e. www.casio.no, -casio.fr, casio.uk - most of those -should- work, and then simply tell them you are a great fan of their wonderful creations, and add that you're running a great club/community especially for casio. Then, after about 40 lines of flattering, you get to buisiness:
add something like this:
so, in order to keep our development up, and to please even more people, by being able to upload mathematical (note, don't say games
) programs to help with different equations.
then you ask for a PC-calc cable, to help with this matter.
Remember to have a nice conclusion of your mail, and say thanks in advance
It worked for me, so i don't see why it shouldn't work for you
good luck anyways

I am gathering the bits and pieces from which the cable should come to life, and i have a couple of questions:
What is good from the MAX232-s below (or is it the same?):
MAX232ACWP
MAX232ACSE
MAX232AEPE
MAX232AEWE
MAX232AESE
MAX232ACPE
MAX232ACWE
The same goes for the tranzistor too:
78L05
78L05ACD-SMD
78L05ACD-GURT
TS78L05CT
TS78L05CS
Greetings from Romania and congrats 4 the site!
