Hello ppl,

This might seem like a n00b question but i got an exam in 4 hours and left the manual at home.

Does anyone know how to enter polar numbers into the calculator.

I know how to enter cartesian eg(5+4i), since there in an 'i' above one of the keys. But in polar i gotta enter (5<4) (ie magnitude 5 with angle 4). I used to use a sharp cal earlies and there was a < key in it.

Thnx

in complex it's the same as 5*e^(4i)

Thanks a lot for that. It was really helpful. My exam has been postponed until tomrrow afternoon so its been a great help so far.

I wanted to ask though if it was possible to get the result in degrees.

If i input 5*e^(60i) it gives me the magnitude taking 5*cos(60)[B] & [B]5*sin(60)i in radians even if the calculator is set to deg.

Is there any way to change it??

for algebra fx 2

writing complex numbers in polar form is so easy ... :thumbsup:

remember x+jy = r*e(j*theta)

for example if we have r=5 , theta = 10 degree

write ---> 5e(10*pi*j/180)

multiply by (pi/180) to convert from degree to radian

:rolleyes:
