I've asked this question before in one of the old forums, and it got completely ignored, but I thought I might ask it again.
BUT, before asking you must know something, I'm a N00B. :rolleyes:

Ok, now with the questions, but care, they're really difficult:
  • How to do percentage calculations with the FX 2.0?
  • Where is the percentage sign and how can you write it?
  • Where is the operation stated in the manual?
  • Have anyone tried to do it before, or AFX users are smarter than using a calculator in a simple percentage problem?

1)

You have the folowing equation:

100%     Percentage
------- =  ------------
Total       Part Money

and you have to multiply over cross and divide the other so if
you want to calculate 10% of 120 Euro you do:

Percentage = 10%
Total = 120 Euro
-> 10*120/100 and get the "Part Money" of 12 ?

If you have 14 Euro that make 12% of the total amount you do:
Percentage = 12%
Part Money = 14 Euro
-> 14*100/12=116+2/3

This is quite easy. Just remember the equation and Multiply over cross and then
divide by the remaining known component. Thats how I do it.

2) There is none. Its an advanced calc and they assume that if you can use it you
are also able to know how to do these calculations :)

3) Maybe, I don't know but I think it's the same answere as at 2)

4) You should be smart enough to do it also. Didn't you do it in school by hand
(without the calc) we are supposed to learn how to do ALL opperations by hand
without a calc before we're allowed to calculate them with a calculator and
I think this is ok.

<_< <_< <_<

Do you think that after 2 baby class years, 5 primary years, 3 preparatory ones, 3 high school years and 5 dutiful years in the college studying probably all types of Mathematics there is and solving all those Maxwell equations in the space and every where, and I still can't do a basic percentage problem. :crazy: :crazy:

The main reason for this topic was to discuss questions 2 & 3 and make sure I'm not mistaken, now

HOW ON EARTH WOULD CASIO MAKE A PROFESSIONAL CALCULATOR WITH ALL THOSE FUNCTIONS LIKE THE FX 2.0 AND NOT INCLUDE A FRIGGIN PERCENTAGE SIGN ????!!!! :profanity: :profanity: :rant: :rant:

ARGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! :profanity: :profanity: :profanity: :profanity:

Did you read my comment???

BECAUSE YOU CAN ASSUME THAT SOMEONE WHO IS ABLE TO USE THIS CALC
CAN DO SUCH A SIMPEL MATH OPERATION ON HIS OWN!!

And because of your question I thought you might ... well ... be not able to do it ...

Anyways have you found a function Sum(a,B )? No because they assume that
you know that you must type a "+" between the numbers if you want to add them.

Well i think all of us dont need the % symbol for do a percent calculus, but its very strange that this very advance calculators (not the one that the "mortal's" use :P) dont have a function for percent.

Offtopic:
I lend my AFX to a friend for exams. Just kidding, we say that the others classmates use the "proletariat" calculator, and we use the bourgeois one.

Its an advanced calc and they assume that if you can use it you are also able to know how to do these calculations :)

Everyone says that, even my maths teacher. :lol:

It may have a bit to do with syntax because on simple calculators 5x=5x5, 5/=5/5, 5+=5+5 and 5-=5-5 but these all return Syn Error on graphic calculators. Actually, some of the choices of keys puzzles me, for example you would think the 2nd function of cube root would be cube. I mean, cube is used a LOT more than cube root.

Ohh! Hey, cool down.
I feel you took this personally, I was kidding/joking/srcasming (sure there isn't such a verb), by no means I was offended by your answer. :)

Now back to topic, so, do we conclude that the AFX does not have a usable % sign?
