Hello, today, working with mi fx-95 I saw an option called complex, and i try to do sqrd -11 and put de result 3.3 i ... now i want to enter to that option and i could find it... can you help :unsure:

Es correcto, en modo complejo hay un resultado para la raiz de un n?mero negativo, que en este caso es imaginario. A lo que entiendo, tu no hayas la forma de poner tu calculadora en modo complejo, verdad?

I dont know if this is what he is meaning, but i think that he cant put him calculator in complex mode again.

Whether you have a normal fx-95 or the MS version, they both don't support complex calculations.
I have the manuals for both (and had the two before too, still have the old one), but they DON'T support the complex numbers at all.

Don't know how you did what you said.
Do you remember where you saw that option? And please state what version of fx-95 you have!

I have the ms version... I think that it have the complex mode because i saw it and in the display i can see "cmplx" but i could activate it

Ok, so you've got the MS version which has the same screen as the fx-570MS, and yes you could see that it has place on the LCD but that's because CASIO uses same LCDs for these.

Now the proof that fx-95MS doesn't do complex calculations (I highly doubt that 3.3i answer you got for reasons stated below), just before I start promise me you won't get bored :greengrin:
  • First, I had the fx-95MS version and it doesn't do it.
  • I have the manual and is says it doesn't.
  • My fx-570MS manual is the same as yours, but I have an additional manual listing all the extra functions like the complex calculations.
  • The fx-95MS doesn't have the purple writing under the buttons that support the complex functions like argument, absolute and so on...
  • When you press mode, you won't get the complex mode, if it had that mode it would immediately appear.
  • You must enter that mode first to calculate something like sqrt(-11), because if I do it in my calc in COMP mode it gives a Math Error.

You may try to hack your calculator.
This calculator may has functions of the advanced model (like fx-991MS) but not present on keyboard.
You may short labeled wires (on your risk) and see keyboard answer. For example, the fx-991MS has hidden keys for displaying menu of the fx-115MS.

If you have the fx-991MS, dizassembly it, turn on and short the K14 and K23. You will have see [1 COMP 2 CMPLX].
Press [MODE] at front side 2 times. You will see [1 EQN] instead of [1 EQN 2 MAT 3 VCT].

that calc costs lik3 ?4.99 here, for that you might aswell buy a new calc that can do complex numbers

my calculator fx-95MS has a short circuit board but doent have the indications like u said , k14 and k23 , but my old fx-95MS has those indications , but i haven't tried to short it :/

do u think that if i short the k14 and k23 on my old fx-95ms it would work ?! and both fx-95ms have diffrent boards
