i am just wandering which of the 2 types of calculators is better
feel free to give comments on which one is better and why and the pros and cons of both. :)

i think the poll is kinda stupid. no one would say the CFX is better.

the only thing the CFX has on the AFX is color, other than that it is inferior

I wouldn't call these colors an advantage. They're more sth. like a disadvantage ...

But they slow the calc down, even when your not using them!

this is true, so you must use them to get the full effect out of the calc! plus they let you do some stuff that you cant do on the AFX.

yeah, if you know how to do it you can turn it into a AFX2.0 with FlashCom or Flash100.

FlashCom is available on my site (as is tutorial on how to use it), Flash100 can probably be found in the file sharing, otherwise somebody post a link ;)

as for the price, how much is that in US$?

hmm... i think you can get a FX1.0 for less... still, thats about the price you would have to buy it (an AFX) for normally.

edit: looking at casio.com I see that they no longer sell AFX calcs! mabey that accounts for the rise in price. :blink:

well, i got one from ebay, but there is one being sold in Mexico, from a very reputable dealer (Betoe) for 1000 Pesos = ?48.55 GBP so you could ask him, it is on a website for sale. i have the link somewhere...

I saw an AFX 2.0 on ebay a few days ago with the starting bid at $9.99. I am pretty sure that auction hasn't ended yet. Ive seen 3 with a buy it now price of $60. You could probably get one for less than that but $60 isnt a bad price. I got mine for $50. I also saw a 1.0 that was $35 buy it now.

it is nessecary to have a cable with an AFX, or you lose much of its capabilities.
