Then i add an item (program), double click on it, write something, simple words and try to send it to the calculator. But i also can't send things from the calculator to the PC. How can i be sure of the port i'm using being correct?
Or, can someething be wrong with the cable? or the calculator? Maybe just a compatibility problem.

When you connect the cable to your calculator, insert it properly till you hear the CLICK sound.
I was fooled twice this way.

----------EDIT-----------
Ahh, now I've noticed something more, you're using Windows XP!
Due to unknown reasons, many users (I am one of them) can't use FA-123 under WinXP, try to run it on another PC having Win98 or WinME.
I've deleted the other topic you made, don't start a new one just because you're worried.
If you try this on another PC and it doesn't work, there are still a handful of tests to try.

Tool > Model Type > ALGEBRA FX series
Then look at the back of your PC to see what COM port the cable is plugged into (they are uysually labled, and its usually plugger into COM1)
In FA123 click:
Link > Communtications... > and select the correct COM port. Bear in mind that for some people the cable will only work on COM1 not COM2
Hope this helps!

I'm gonna try the patch anyway and the other program, nothing else works. And i only have one port COM in my PC so, not much chance that i am using the wrong one.
What else can you tell me????

Another thought:
If your cable is home made, then you may need the battery version of the unofficial cable (MAX22) as some PC's cant handle the current drain on them.
