:banghead: I have purchased a FX1.0-plus and am trying to upload a CAS and algebra addin to give the FX-2 functionality.

Are these CAS, ALGEBRA & TUTORIAL downloadable anywhere?

I couldn't justify the added expense of a FX-2.....

no need to upload them, they are already present on your calc, you just need to activate them. download FlashCOM or Flash100 then search this forum (click search) for something like "CAS on FX1.0" and you should quickly find instructions on how to upgrade.

I have the Flash100 and directory explorer on-board. With the FX-1.0 PLUS calculator just purchased (Not a FX-1.0), these files are not present on D:\ or any other drive.

Therefore I will need to upload them from somewhere.....

:D Those files exist but they are in another drive and whit another name, and one more thing in the FX1.0 there is only one file whit all those 3 programs

You have to launch the same file, but whit different arguments to launch the CAS, Algebra and TUTOR ;)

:) You just have to run the joint2.exe (it is on drive F) with the arguments CAS, ALGEBRA or TUTORIAL (yeah just link it to the menu with Flashcom/FlashEditor/Flash100 ...or other thing that someone may create) B)

My first topic in this forum was about it, just read then you will get all the info tho turn your FX1.0 in one AFX 2.0 :P

This method will not work for the ROM 1.05 on the FX-1. The linking will not run the CAS, ALGEBRA or TUTORIAL.

Note that using V1.00 of the CAS2 and ALG2 official but superceeded add-ins will work but lack the symbolic matrix functionality shown in the manual for FX-2

V1.01 of CAS2 and ALG2 do not work. CASIO must have placed a check system to ensure it only runs on the FX-2 model.

I wonder if there is any other way around this?

Never heard about ROM 1.05. You should extract your ROM so we can analyse it, there was a programm for that but I don't remember where to find it.

Here you can find a link to a post in which there's a pgm to dump the afx 2.0 rom. Probably it works with fx1.0 if they're so similar... :) I'm going to buy a fx1.0+ and I need to transform it in a afx2.0+.I was sure that it was ever possible, was I wrong?

 This is the first time that some one talk about a ROM DOS 1.05, my FX1.0 has the ROM DOS 1.02 ( the same ROM DOS of the FX 2.0 ),generally the ROM DOS of the Plus models are 1.03. :)

:D In my FX 1.0, the CAS ALGEBRA and TUTOR programs are in drive D, if I try to launch those programs from any explorer program, the calc crash, but if I launch the same programs from the CASIO main menu, ( fort that I just link one icon to each of those programs ), they works fine whiteout any limitation.

:P If I install the CAS2 and ALGEBRA2 those programs works fine too.

:( Probably you have the nearest CASIO ROM DOS version, I was advised ( by one CASIO employer ), that CASIO know what we are doing whit the FX 1.0 and FX 1.0 Plus, so they make ?drastic? changes in the ROM DOS of the FX 1.0 Plus, for what I know they don?t do anything in the FX 1.0 because this model was removed from the marked.

 Since 2002 I never see again the FX 1.0 model, in one CASIO store I was informed that CASIO only sell de FX 1.0 Plus models. :(

Anyway did you try to launch those programs from the CASIO main menu?

It has nothing to see with ROM DOS, it's just ROM 1.05, the version of the content of the ROM (Read Only Memory) of the calc.

If you succeed extracting your ROM content, compress it with WinRAR and send it to me at 2072 AT 2072productions dot com and I'll upload it with others ROMs :)

I found a great offer for a new fx1.0+ in the USA. I study engineering so could be very useful the features of the afx but I'd like to buy this fx1.0 because it's cheaper and I could tune it into an afx2.0+. Now, after having read this post I have a doubt: is there the possibility that I can't tune it? I'd like to know if however it's a little risk and it's better try to buy it! :)

:D Just buy it even if you could tune it in to one AFX 2.0 Plus, you always can install the CAS 2 ( available at the official CASIO site ), and you will be able to do everything that we do, playing EXE games and have very useful EXE programs, that?s a limitation for the CFX users, that you will not have with this model.

Just beware the official CAS2 and ALGEBRA2 also do not work with the FX-1.0 PLUS I just bought. You need version 1.00 not 1.01 (the latest). The CAS2 does not contain symbolic matrix algebra by the way.

I think that the HP49g+ is far superior in all departments, however, I hate the keyboard and the CASIO is a great keyboard. If you could get the HP ROM into the casio calculator - now there's a winner!

I don't think that mixing roms and calculators is such a good idea, lol :)

Hi people... i'm back.

Well, i have in my hands a Calc with this new ROM 1.05 (that is really a pain in the neck).
Is there any way to upload a previous rom into the calc?

I've been out for some time, so... is there anything new?

just send 2072 a copy of the rom and we'll look after it.

If I remember right there was also a site you could upload the roms to...

Those programs cannot be run by TOUCHE or any other explorer, the only way is to link them in the main menu of your calc.
