Okay this is now the second version of Sonic for AFX, i hope you will like it :hammer:

There is a readme file in english (pdf format) in the archive, so please take a look at it to see what's new, how to play and what's coming :)

The archive is now on the file sharing  http://www.casiocalc...23b&load_that=1

Have fun, and please give me comments and suggestions for the next versions ;)

you should check your RAR settings, currently your archive is 633Kb if I recompress it with my RAR settigs the archive is only 445Kb

Check the dictionary block size setting, in your archive it's set to 256Ko (the smallest size) where has it should be 4096Ko...

Make sure to make a "solid" archive.

Explore RAR settings and use the best.

About the pdf in your archive you should try do disable compression when creating your PDF files, rar will compress them MUCH better.

btw, you cannot upload it to the file sharing if the size is > 400Kb, you have to link it instead.

Ok the size is now 389 kb :P I will upload it right now.

BTW, your opinion of the game is interesting too ;)

Well Adobe programes are special... :/ They didn't correctly understand the word "compression"

I tested Sonic, it's great, it's a real game now :)

I found a bug: if while playing you push <span class=MENU' /> and you try to use the arrow key to select an entry the display become completely corrupted, and the calc become unstable, after restart the memory is cleared.

I wanted, but it isn't working, and the error message disappears before I can even see it.
I have all the memory free.

 Wow.
What is your ROM version?
Maybe there is a problem with the size of the executables (it should be reduced a lot quite soon)...

Which way did you use to send it on your calc? :o

I'm using ROM 1.02, and had it sent using the LEC drive through Flash100 & GComm.

I forgot to mention that the game starts good, and after I choose the map, it gives me the error message and quits, so I am able to access the game's menu.
Ahh. and I found a really little mistake, it still says 0.23b. ;)

very strange, I hace a 1.02 too and it's working perfectly. Try to clear your memory (RAM) maybe it's been corrupted by another addin and the memzone crash...

My own rom is a 1.02 too...

Ahh. and I found a really little mistake, it still says 0.23b. ;)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This is certainly abnormal. The string of the version ("0.24b" now) has been actualised and you couldn't see "0.23b" (it is written 0.24b on my calc btw).
Look if you see the "alzork design game" logo before the main menu, and if you can see the credits on the menu too. If you can, that means that you are using the old version of MENUS.SON, which is certainly not compatible with this new version ;)
Did you have the old version installed on your calc before you try the new one?

I have 1.03 ROM, ad the game crashes at my calc too - i tried running it from LINL, and using ShineOS.
It just displays an error message:
ERROR: null pointer
and returns to the menu.
I tried clearing the entire ram (in fact, it got cleared when i turned the calc on again ;) ) - no use.

There should be no problem with your rom... I've asked to try the game on other calc with rom 1.03 and it runned correctly, so i don't think there is a problem with the size of the executables (thus launching it with linl or shineOs won't change anything).

Could you give me more details about the crash? When does the error appear?
Maybe was there also an installation problem?

The error message appears immidietely when i launch the game. When i launch it trough LINL, it disappears too fast to read it, when i try shine os, it stays on the screen for about a second.
I transferred all the files from bin directory to my calc using flash com, in drive built by this program. There wasn't any transfer errors. Maybe i'll try the CFX later...

That's quite embarassing :(

It is a good idea to try the CFX, please tell how it works with it.

Did you have some files of the old version on your calc?

(btw, why do you still use flashcom? :))

huh ?!? ... how do you want to install a asm/c program on the CFX
(assuming that you are not Marting P. :) ) .. that is impossible. The
CFX is not natively capable of installing Add-Ins.

Ok Orwell, I'll write something about the game: ;)
It's huge, great and outstanding. I think that it's the most advanced game for AFX at the moment. Obviously it's too short so you can't play it too much :( .

BTW Can you give me link to the program in which you do graphic??

Don't worry for the maps, it is just a question of time :) Some people just asked me to already release the editor, so anyone will have the possibility to create new zones :)

The soft I use to manage my graphics is Sprite Maker (for windows only). This is another software i made for this purpose :D
You can find it here: http://orwell01.free...se/SpriteMaker/
It is written with Qt (like Flash100), so if the <{GNULINUX}>-users are also interested in it i will ask to dada what I have to do to convert it for <{GNULINUX}> :)

Note: this soft is also needed to convert graphics for the 'drawlib' library (see the file sharing). This is the lib I use in the game.

The game is great. I really like the graphics.

But please release the map editor and another thing
I'd like to add is, that it runs quite fast so If you are running the
graphics are not very sharp. I don't know if you can do anything about this maybe you could slow the whole thing down a bit.

Okay, i transferred the cfx and everything was fine (if i don't mention casio add-in wiping all the discs :P ), so it must have been an upload error after all.

Graphics are great, the game works fine. But it's true that it's hard to see anything when sonic is running - this might just not be the kind of game for calculator. Maybe mario would be a better idea - it's much slower...
Anyway, except that, the game is a true masterpiece.
