When i went to turn on my calculator after i finished my work in american gov't, it gave me a funny error...
DATA ERROR!    44

Read User's Guide

Confirmed: [EXE]
      OFF : [ESC]
the errors alternate between 44, 40, 64, and 60 :o
when i push <span class=ESC' /> the calc turns off, when i push <span class=EXE' />, it says...
RESET (CLEAR)
STORAGE MEMORIES?

Yes: [EXE]
No : [ESC]
if i push <span class=ESC' /> it goes back to the first error, when i push <span class=EXE' /> it says...
CLEARING MEMORY
then it usually goes back to the error page and either repeats the same error, or gives a new one :( how do i fix this?

(btw, when i was doing this, it said "STORAGE MEMORIES CLEARED!" "PRESS MENU key to continue, and this seems to work, but it did the same thing earlier and now is having problems again, so i still am getting the same errors)

--edit--
nevermind, forget the "btw" comment, i am getting the errors again :(

Go to the constructor menu and make a test of the flash, if it doesn't fix the problem (or if you have FLASH NG) removes ALL batteries and let it rest a whole day, if the problem persists, the only solution is to send it back to Casio... :(

My classpad seems to be death, sorry for being a little offtopic. If my classpad is damaged, bye bye graphing calculators, i had sell my AFX and i dont have money for calculators now and sure that for a looong time. If my classpad have guarantee, anyway i had no bought it here in mexico and i dont have the ticked, and casio mexico sucks.

my deepest condolances for your near-dead calculator.

However, this is an excellent occasion to underline that these kind of problems never occur if you choose a cfx instead of an afx. Clearly, this has shown us: cfx > afx

Damned energizer, i would like to be on the US to demand them :P.

Bad experiencies:
1) In my AFX, 13 months ago, i bought the best (expensives) energizer batteries, and about 2 months later, the electrolyte of 1 batterie got out from the battery then harm my AFX serial port. Fortunately I fixed it the last april :D, and sell my AFX :'(.
2) 1 damned battery is -.3 V, dont know why the minus, i know how to use the multimeter (voltimeter in this case) and put the probes correctly.

Conclusions:
1) My classpad is alive!
2) Energizer sucks.
3) I will buy rechargeable batteries, like PJ.

Advice:
Never sell you calculators, i did it coz it was very bad have that nice AFX full of dust, and that 1000 pesos were very usefulls for me (about 84 USD).

1) I had this on 3 calcs now. I was on all 3 on warranty.

twice I got a new one because the problem was one with the flash
(though I clearly have not overused it!!!).

with the other one (though I though the flash was bad) was nothing bad.
They send it back and said they had done some soldering on some
components and it works for ~2 months now.

I though this might have been caused by the Casio Basic Extender I was
working on the so I abandoned the project though it worked quite well ...

Anyways send it in but remember that a member here reported that Casio
told him his problems would have been caused by "illegal" software on
the calc. It was the problem that a line was missing and he did not reset
the calc. So pelase try NOT to tell them that you installed Non-casio
add ins or they'll simply void your warranty. Though it is CERTAIN that
you can not damage the calc by software.

So you should continue your basic extender, there are a lot of people who report that kind of problem on the French forum, it only happen to recent AFX...

Hello...
I have some questions (I am new here)
1. Have you all built your AFX cables who connect the calc to the PC?
2. Can I buy the cable somewhere?

Untile now - my calc was formated 2 times :(
the first time happen cuz one of my friends deleted all the programs by a mistake (but i was lucky cuz i made a backup a week before)
and the secound time happend cuz one of my friends done something to the memory and all the data on the calc was deleted together with a lot of game that i made.
