since a week i have a casio cfx 9850GB, and since i like making games & programming & stuff, i immediately started programming stuff. It's only quite demotivating to see that the calculator needs a whole second two draw three pixels.
now after some searching and trying to read german websites, i found that it was not the calculator being slow or bad in performance, i was becouse the calculator forces a refresh after each draw command(pixon, ploton etc), and the built-in casiobasic programming language just plain sucks. now i found some stuff about programming in assembly on my calcuator, but i can only do that if i 'hack' my calculator.. found a website about that too:
http://prg.rkk.cz/~mpoupe/
but that website only talks about the casio 9850G, not the 9850GB..
now how can i modify my casio 9850GB to enable programming in assembly?

(still need to learn assembly though, probably not as easy as basic :P)

the 9850g and gb are pretty much the same, so it should work :) you will deffinately need a cable if you are going to be doing that type of stuff though.

nope, the differences in the cfx versions are very minor, one has more ram, or one has a program the other dosent.

Buy a soldering iron and a solder extractor, search in google about the procedure for use the solddering iron correctly (in spanish there are a lot of documents about that) and practice with an old electronic component (a useless mainboard could be great, try to quit and put again ships like the bios EEPROM, etc..).

i'll try the same!

However, not until i'm finished with my studies, as i can't risk to have to buy a new one. Students are generally known to be poor, and i'm not an exception :P
