hey guys,
I have got a really serious problem with my good old Casio CFX 9850G Calulator. I replaced the old batteries today with new one and no the CFX doesn't get on again :nonono: . I don't have the manual here so I really don't know what to do. It would be really nice if somebody could help me with that. So if there is somebody out there who can help me just because he has the manual for it, I would apprechiate that . :)

1. Reinstall batteries and check a polarity.
2. The CFX-9850G has a switcher above the "Backup" inscription. The calculator will turn on only when cover will closed back.
3. After closing the cover and calculator is not run, press "reset" button at back side.
4. You may have probems with contrast. To correct it "blindly", press <span class=sin' /> (menu item "D - contrast") and <span class=F2' /> (init all) just after closing the cover.

the calc can switch on with the battery cover on or off...there are no pressure switches or switches of any sort for it to sense with...

Sergei is right. the calc won't work if the cover isn't on.
the new CFX-9850GB PLUS calcs are different though.

Yes they are, but i think that when pressing the reset buttom the contrast resets to default automatically.
In this case the cover needs to be closed, if it doesn't work try removing all batteries wait a while and replace the backup battery too, check correct polarity and voltage of all batteries before installing them, then try the reset buttom

I agree, but on the CFX-9850G first press of the Reset button will not restore the contrast (only turn on the calculator). You need to press Reset again to init the contrast.

I tried the directions given for putting the back on again and hitting the restart...worked like a charm! I almost threw the thing out, so thanks very much! :)
