As you can see from my member info
<- there, I own both a TI-89Ti and the Classpad, and I can only say...I rather like having them both. If your budget doesn't go up to the ~$250-$300 range, then I'd recomment the 89 if you want current availability of a large variety of programs (including games ) but, if you can be patient, buy the CP and wait for further developments (like CPLua, and mentions of a highly improved OS 3...hopefully soon).

do not get the classpad if you are an engeneering student
i suggest you do some research and look at some of the complaint topics and such here, if you see anything that directly effects you, the classpad may not be for you. Because the classpad is something of a work in progress (think Nentindo DS ) you may want to go with a more solid calc. the disadvantage to doing that though is that there will be little improvement to such a calc, whereas improvement, or at least change, is practically assured with the classpad. As a member of this forum you might also have an effect on the future workings and features of the classpad.
specific questions are good too, for instance, tell us what you will be using the calc for and what you need it to do. We can work from there.
