I just hooked up my AFX 2.0 today and started transfering addins. I noticed that regardless of the actual size of the program the addin takes up all 128 kb in the Flash memory. This leaves room for only 6 addins. Is there any way to store more than one program per 128kb sector? How can I have more than 6 add ins?

EDIT: Also, How are Add-ins uninstalled?

You must use either Flash100 / Flasheditor
or FlashCom.

In FlashCom you simply click the + over the Files box and select the files
you want to upload. Finaly you click Build Drive and save them sa CDR file.

Then you have to link the files to the system menu (or at least have to have
1 explorer linked to it). In FlashCom Select the System checkbox and the ComPort and click receive. Select a file name and then make sure calculator is in
receive mode and connected to the PC.
The System will be downloaded.

When this is finished click Open System (lower right panel).
Increase the number in Total by 1 (to add 1 Icon). Choose in Number the
Icon you want to modify (probably the first one you added) and click on Bitmap to add a Menu Icon. Note that it has to be 30*19 Pixel and has to be
Black & White (Monochrome-Bitmap). Type some name in the field under the Bitmap (next to key). Then type the name of the executable in the box next
to name. (Without the Drive). eg. FLASH.EXE
Next to Drive you type the drive you uploaded (or want to upload) the
executable to (eg. L:\). In Version Type 1.0 And leave the field argument
blank (if not otherwise stated in the readme).

Repeat this with all other icons you want to add. When you're finnished don't
forget to click on the SaveSystem button. And overwrite the old file (or
create a new one).

Now make sure you checked the System Checkbox and Select the drive you
want to upload the previously selected files to. Enter your comport number.

Then CLick send. Select the System File you just modified and then click OK.
Now select the drive file you created previously and click OK. Make sure
the calc is in receive Mode and properly connected to the PC. now click Yes.

Uploading begins and all files should go on your calc.
If you want to extract executables from a CFX file I recomment
AIP (Add-In Packeger) to pack the Drive.

Bye Huhn

Thank you for the information. Just messing around I found out that you can package multiple files in one CXF using AIP then launch them individually using System Explorer. They dont get there own icon but it seems a bit less complicated than what you described. Still, thanks for helping me out. How can I remove Add-ins?

You should learn how to use Flash100 / Flasheditor or Flashcom..

It's much faster than using casio add-in installer...
And you select the drive you want to transfer to yourself, so you simply overwrite what you don't want..

FlashCom gave me a fatal exception every time I tryed to transfer anything. I use SysExpl3 to launch individual files from the drives, Does a version 4 exist? Do yall recommedn something better than sysexpl?

You should try LinL from Roeoender. As for me I still use mine (the explorer from TOUCHE).

This error occurs also for me but only if you try to send *.CFX files.
Try it using CDR FlashCom Format! They work!

 This is not all, whit this programs you can install 4\5 games or programs, but if you use the UPX program you can install 7\8 games or program for each drive.

The UPX program is a ?WinRAR? for EXE files.

The packed EXE files works normally whiteout problems, the only ?problem?, is that the packed files take about 2 seconds to start.

PS ? The FX 1.0 has the same AFX 2.0 software, they do everything that the AFX do, and they are more cheap, you didn?t know about that???????????

Thanks for the info on compression. I was messing with SysExpl 4 and brought up the password screen. I typed 2 characters then pressed DEL a few times to delete what I had typed then pressed MENU to try to get out. It took all this to be my password. I couldnt get back to sysexpl until I reentered the correct password. So, I Initialized the calculator from the system screen. I rebuilt the CFX I uploaded to drive L with sysexpl3 instead of 4. Then I uploaded the 5 CFXs back on the calculator. When I start Icon F (which should start sysexpl3) I get the same password screen. Any ideas?

to delete sysxpl 4 pass you *must* use syserase ... or doing a little executable which deletes the 0x66 ram zone, from 0 to .... I dunno exactly ! but it is 0x66 segmt ! :D

I do have upx and have used it, and it works great most of the time, but does anyone know exactly what command line will give the best compression while still keeping the exe's executable?? For example, I was trying to get a good clock on my calc and there are a couple really nice ones out there like the one built in TOUCHE and the CAZIO clock. I don't use many of the functions of TOUCHE very often, so I tried compacting the CAZIO exe and it is still are very large file. Some have said they have compacted this file quite small, but I have had no luck. Any suggestions?

What do you mean by original? Touche's explorer was the first explorer ever made for AFX or Graph100...

FOR UPX: use this command line to have the best ratio:

upx.exe --best --crp-ms=100000 --8086 -v  YOURSTUFF.EXE (OR .COM ...)

What do you mean by "very large file"?

Well, I have never compressed TOUCHE, so I'm not sure how small that might go (if it isn't already compressed), but for me, the CAZIO exe starts off being 116kb, and I can only compress it to 110kb with that command line. Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure that you use the one from roeoenders page!

Haven't found a place to download just the exe file, had to get it from the calc by first uploading the casio add-in file and sending the exe back via sysexplorer and through flashcom. Perhaps this is why the file is so large?

Huhn_m: thank you so much, that is a MUCH nicer file size:)
Crimson: The download on your page is only the cfx version of it, and I think that is how I started all that trouble of wrong file sizes :) .

Will compressing the file change the accuracy of the clock, since it takes a slight bit more time to load?

@Casto Productions:

You can add the executables contained in a CFX file to a CDR file
using AIP then you can also add more executables! Another way
to get the executable is to create a drive with AIP (like above)
open this with the function "Visualiser Lecteur" of Flash100
(you can open the CDR files. It's the same format) and then select
a file and click on "extraire". Then you can select where to store the executable. This works with all CFX files.

Compressing TOUCHE or CAZIO clock won't change anything reguarding the accurancy of their clock since these programs only display the hardware time that is accessible through the hardware ports.

The clock stay accurate even if you turn off the calc.
