Is there a way not to transfer the Flash content on connection?

... perhaps Casio will update the software otherwise we're going to destroy it ! For sure !
Last year I ran FA-124 to see what it looked like and it seemed over complicated.
It took a while to figure out how to do anything with .g1m and .g1r files.
But now I've got a 9860 and tried connecting to the computer for the first time and it is rubbish.
I wanted to transfer programs from the calculator to the PC to edit them, and to start with
nothing seemed to work.
After much fiddling, I found that putting the calculator in Receive mode allowed it
to tranfer data to the computer. What's that all about ?
After more messing about I managed to get it to put the programs over to the computer
side of the Window. But I can't say I would be able to consistently do this every time,
because the same actions don't seem to always do the same thing.
At one point the file open dialog was looking for .g1s files and shortly after it was looking
for .g1r files, but what I did to cause the difference I don't know.
Anyone feel like writing their own replacement for FA-124 ?

If you are atempting to get some apps .g1a just press the calc storage memory icon, then right click import file, then select g1a extension, the file and then ok...
Once you get to know how it works you understand that it is actually somehow well designed...
Now it is indeed very stupid to have to transfer everything again... I am tottaly ok with it trasfering the programs etc... not the storage memory content, expecially .g1a apps that are not modified.
Perhaps if you were able to program a new pc-calc interface, well we would all apreciate it

What kind of new (or maybe even cool) features would you like to see in this program of this type?

There may be some source code to some of the older transfer programsbut I would need the specifications on how the data is transferred from PC to calc...
somewhere on the web but it will be for the old COM ports, not USB.
What kind of new (or maybe even cool) features would you like to see in this program of this type?
* Something which works like FA-123. Let the user decide what to transfer.
* Also "Easy-Receive" - always ready to receive - I read that somewhere.
* Transfer GIFs,BMPs, etc straight to the calculator.

Does anybody have any source code to some Casio transfer programs?

I remembered I'd collected together some software a while ago.Ok caspro. I'll go see what I can do once I get some source code, and start working on it.
Does anybody have any source code to some Casio transfer programs?
So I've put a web page to them at:
http://members.lycos...loadsindex.html
Source code is there for:
BobParish's PCLink, CaS, ComCal, cfxsnd, Link-Up and CasEmul.
CasEmul doesn't have transfer capability, but it can open cat and fxi files
and the source code is there.
I think most of this software only works with the cable sold by casio or
similar cables and not FX-Interface's cable.
Xchange works with the both the casio cable and the FX-Interface cable
but there is no source code.
A decent replacement for FA-124 would be able to use the USB cable,
and like I said this old software won't be able to help you in that respect,
although you might get some ideas for the rest of the workings of the program.

It probably won't have USB support, but when I release a prototype you can get a feel of what the interface would be like. If anyone wants to join in the development of this new project, your welcome to
