Well, introducing the first Farsi add-in for CASIO ClassPad 300: Now you can write Farsi on ClassPad!

there is a little bug! the horizontal slider doesn't work correctly in editing mode.

If someone who doesn't speak Farsi wanted to check the add-in, the Farsi message at the start is this: 'Please turn your ClassPad off and on'.

About the horizontal scroll bar: There was nothing wrong with it on my ClassPad! Does anyabody else has this problem too?

Congratulations, very nice add-in.
You should integrate the Farsi keyboard in the CP keyboard (add a "far" tab), I know it's possible (look for CPKeyboardManager class here: http://www.cpsdk.com...topic.php?t=119 )

And, a simple question, how did you do the links between letters?

1. (Again) Does anybody else has this problem?
2. Does the text return to its original state when you save and re-open the file?
3. Does the cursor move to an unexpected position when you type? e.g you type something at the start of the line and the cursor goes to the end of the line.

Actually there are four characters for each of the Farsi letters in the font, which represent the four styles of the Farsi letters. With each key press, the add-in checks to see which style of the letter should be entered (according to the position of the cursor), and then the correct character is entered.
If you didn't understand the descriptions, tell me (I myself didn't understand them ).

About the start-up screen:
I rechecked the source code and I think that the add-in is bug-free (except the scroll-bar).
So... Here is the way you can use the add-in without restarting your CP:
When you start the add-in, click on that boring message, then press [Clear], and you see a message box. Answer 'yes', and then you can use the add-in.
Remember, however, that there may be unrecognized bugs, so you are using the above way at your own risk.

There is just one problem: how can you manually set the tab width? As you add one more tab, this one will be hidden by the Edit buttons, and it's not good. (look at the red rectangle on the screenshot) But i'm sure it can be easily fixed.

Kilburn: Thanks! I added an extra 'Fa' tab to my keypad, and about the tab width, there must be a logical way of changing the tabs' width (as Brian did it in CP49), but as I couldn't find that , I made a condensed font and used it as the tabs' font.

far2055: I read your post carefully... That's not a bug, that's a big bear!!
It occures on everybody's CP and it is because of the incompatibility of the ClassPad and Right-To-Left texts. Unfortunately I can do nothing about it, until I (or someone else, more probably) makes a RTL textbox for ClassPad.

Behnoud: I was thinking of releasing the PC version of Farsi Negar (emulator), and do sth so that when you set your PC's keyboard language to 'FA', you can write Farsi in the emulator... About the conversion of PC files, the only idea that I have for now is copy/pasting a text from Word or Notepad into the Farsi Negar emulator, but I should work on it, so I don't think such ability will be present soon...
If you know C++ or any other programming language, or if you have other ideas, help me please... I will be thankful.

Ehem... Farsi Negar 1.1 will be ready soon... Nothing improved about RTL, textboxes, etc, but I've done something for the low speed...

What's New?
1. I removed the startup screen.
2. I have added the ability of having multiple pages in one file, so when the speed becomes slow in one page, you can simply create a new, empty page and again type fast in it. Just when you felt that the add-in is running slow, click the 'Next' button and answer 'Yes' to create a new page. Read the descriptions:
Toolbar buttons:

1. Previous Page: Go to the previous page.
2. Go to page: Jump to the page that you select.
3. Next Page: It has two usages: 1. It shows the next page; 2. When you are in the last page, it creates a new page.
(Please let me know what do you think about the pages)

Other things:

* Current page number and number of pages in the file is displayed in the status bar, in front of the file name.
* When you want to do anything related to pages (going, coming, jumping, running, etc) you should answer the 'Save Changes?' message (except deleting).
* 'Page>Insert' inserts a page before the current page.
* 'Page>Delete' deletes the current page (without showing the 'Save Changes?' dialog).

Upgrading your files from ver1.0 to ver1.1:

If you have any serious documents written with Farsi Negar 1.0, you can not open them with 1.1. But you should open your file with ver1.0, then select all of the text and then Edit>Copy. Then go to ver1.1 and choose 'Edit>Paste'.
This is just for the current version, if I changed the file format in the future versions, I build a convertor, too. Don't worry!

I think I explained everything... Forgive me if the post is a little long...
BTW I will probably start working on the PC version next week, so that you can type sth in PC and transfer it to ClassPad (NOT conversion, just typing).

Such a thing which import/export between CP & PC is really necessary!

I have an idea . Can you add an auto learn (and surely auto compelete) capability to your program?
It makes typing more and more easy.
A capability like "IntelliComplete" software.

Your idea is very nice! There are some problems however:
1. If I add Auto-complete, the prog's speed becomes even less (Of course not a big problem, you can have multiple pages).
2. Writing a Farsi vocabulary is so hard... It takes time, and also it is difficult by itself. For example, this long term:

A QUESTION:

Very good! It's very useful, I'm building a Vietnamese tab (I try to emulate the UNICODE n the classpad, but it is impossible because of the memory).
Can SDK make a function can work in the main app.(TI supported)?

With the SDK, you can execute 'Main' using an unsupported function, but no way can you build a function that runs in main (Except the standard 'FUNC' files which you can create with the 'Program' app).

vanhoa, if you are here: 2^16 chars wowow! But most of the chars are useless chars in CP, e.g Hebrew and Thai chars. Who needs them?

And now... Here is a trial version 1.2: I don't warranty that the program works on everybody's PC, so you are downloading the above files with the risk of wasting your time.
The emulator
This DLL (ClassPadDLLgcc.dll) is required to run the EXE file. (If you have downloaded the SDK (Dev-C++), you already have this dll. Just look in the SDK_PATH\bin folder) If you couldn't download the files, refresh your browser to download them.

THE ABOVE ARCHIVES ARE IN *.RAR FORMAT, THEY AREN'T REAL ZIPs.

HOW IT WORKS:
OK. When you put your keyboard language to 'FA', you can type Farsi in the emulator. PC->CP conversion is possible but CP->PC isn't. For PC->CP conversion, do this on your PC:
NOTE : In all of the steps below, the keyboard language of the PC should be on 'FA' mode (Press Shift+Alt).
* Run the emulator.
* Go to Windows and open the file you want, example: you open a file with NotePad. Then select the text and Edit>Copy.
* Come to the emulator and right-click and then select Edt>Paste Windows Clipboard.
* You see that some [ x ] chars are entered. Delete all of them. Choose PC>Conv & Paste. Converted! Save your file and close the emulator (DO NOT USE THE DOS WINDOW, PRESS ON/OFF to close it).
* With your CP manager, transfer the contents of the file 'save.mcs' to CP. ('save.mcs' is automatocally created on first run).

Hi. I added a very primitive ClassPad>>PC conversion. Select the portion of the text you want to convert and choose PC > Conv&Copy.

Unfortunatly there is a bug with emulator.
If you past some farsi test then you will get some error and windows close your APP.
I found that if you save your work in a file first and then paste your text (using FaNegar paste not emulator) you will not get that error and Fanegar works great.

And a suggestion:
Please save files in flash memory not in the cla$$pad RAM. Thanks.

First you should right-click and choose 'Edit>Paste Windows Clipboard', then you should click 'PC>Conv&Patse'. As far as I know this way it doesn't crash.

I fixed some bugs and added a new option: Imagine that you convert a very long text from Win to CP. It looks like this:
یک متن بسیار بسیار طولانی که این متن اگر باعث نمایش داده‌شدن لغزنده‌ی افقی شود خواندن را مشکل می‌کند
If you go to 'Format>ArrangeLines' then the text looks like this:
یک متن بسیار بسیار طولانی
که این متن اگر باعث نمایش
داده‌شدن لغزنده‌ی افقی شود
خواندن را مشکل می‌کند

Again about the Win>>CP conversion:
* The correct way is: First right-click and choose 'Edit>PatseWindowsClipboard', then delete all of the chars, and then

choose PC>Conv&Paste.
* The unwanted chars at the start or end of the converted text are usual.
* If you use the correct way, but still windows closes your app, try to change the selection a little. For example if you

can't convert:
یک جمله‌ی ساده
try to convert
جمله‌ی ساده

thanks for the new version and new features!!

farsi negar has realy helped me through my exams ( by cheating )

well , I found the first bug in the new version!!
I wrote a long text in cp using the Farsi Keyboard!! then I used 'Format>ArrangeLines' and got the expected result !! then I added another line in that page .. again another long text!! and I tried to use 'Format>ArrangeLines' again to make this text in the correct order too. but when I pressed 'Format>ArrangeLines' .. the third line of the previous line arrangement was gone!! and I had a missing line!!!

I dont know whether I was clear complaining the bug or not!!
if not .. tell me to explain more!!
