    CFX 9850 GB Plus

Posted 27 October 2006 - 07:18 PM

Hello,
I would like to ask for some help about the calculator (bought in 2003, a blue-white 9850GB+). I have unfortunately hit it with something, and now the lower PCB (that has the keyboard) has a small hole in it - but enough for not allowing the calc to work. I would like to ask whether this part is interchangable with the same part of some other (cheaper) calc - e.g. the 9750's or an older CFX's.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Barnab

Anything can be fixed, for the right price. If you have no knowledge of electronics (and Casio CFX-related) i strongly suggest you replace it with a new calculator. If you however do have some skills, i'm certain that you can get it fixed. You will need quite a lot of equipment to get it fixed, as in spare parts + whatever tools needed to do the operation. You will also need schematics and a complete list of what needs replacement.

My best guess is that it will not be "worth it" to fix your calculator, as it will require a lot of time, and money for spare parts. Especially if you do not have the tools either.

If you do, however, try to fix it, i'm certain there are people here on the board that can guide you along the way :)

Good luck

Maybe you could send it to CASIO for repair. Maybe they might help you out. :D

If you can tell which wires are broken, you could try to solder wires around the breaks using any two points on separate sides that it was connected to.

Soldering the wires wouldn't be a too big problem. Although I'm a bit afraid that the keypad side of the PCB cannot be fixed.

huhn_m: you must seem very smart to quote your own post and applaud yourself. Post removed because it was senseless spam
