I have some trouble finding out what the different models can. For example, is the FX2.0 better, or do they just have different functions?
What models do you prefer?

The main differences come down to this: The AFX has 144k RAM, 768k FLASH ROM, gray screen and supports machine code programs. The 9950 has 60k RAM, no FLASH memory, no support for machine language programs, and a screen that can draw in orange, blue, or green. If you like a color screen get the 9950, otherwise the AFX 2.0 is the better calculator. You can find more info on Casio's site.

Well, there are a lot of differences. Basically put the AFX is a much better calculator because it is more more capable than any of the previous casio calculators (besides perhaps the FX 1.0, but that is being discussed in a different thread). The AFX does everything the CFX models did and a great deal more as well. The AFX can be upgraded with downloads from casio (although most prefer to use the flash upgrade memory for games and such), can support algebra functions (solving for variables ect), is faster by quite a bit, has more memory for programs, ect.

Bottom line: I own a CFX-9850 and the AFX, and the only thing availible on the CFX models that isn't on the AFX is the "color" screen, which is really just four layers of screens. If you have the extra money to spend, spring for the AFX.
