Because the game is near finished I thought, well lets make some screenshots. The first screenshot is the splash screen. No keys needed here, it will disappear after a few seconds.

After that you are in the map. Scroll a little around to see how big the map is. Scrolling is done with the arrow keys. The little square box with the ?+? in it will move over the screen. When it hits the side the screen will move to the next part of the map.

When you press menu, the menu bar appears. For each function key a menu is added (F3 is still empty). When you press F1 in the menu mode, the F1 menu pops up. The mouse changes to a black square and is in the lower left corner of the F1 menu, move it with the arrow keys to select a building tile. When you press EXE you select the tile, the mouse changes to a big opaque square and is on the map again. When you select the right spot for your tile press SHIFT to build.

You cannot build on water, you will first need to make land of it. For that use the shovel and bucket icon, top left of F1 menu. Also, you cannot build on existing structures, you need to demolish first, using the same icon.

Note that in menu mode (when the menu bar is visible) time stops, the game is paused?

Under F2 there are facility?s like power plants, fire and police stations, health service, schools, water stations, roads, harbours and airports. Roads are auto placing, meaning that you only have to build a road where you want it, it aligns itself to neighbouring roads.

When there is no, or not enough, water or power the tiles will have blinking icon?s indicating what shortage it has. Also there is an information chart under F5. use it to manage your city. (scroll up and down with the arrow keys)

Under the F4 key you find the fund and Taxes menu. Select items with up and down arrows, adjust with left and right.

Using the F6 key you get in the settings dialogue. Load and save game (only one save game possible, so be careful. Many many thanks to VanHoa) you can exit the game via this menu.

**important updates**

from version 0.17 and up a minimap is available
- in non-menu mode press + and a minimap will be shown, it supports icons for power and wateshortage and also shows fire

from version 0.18 and up large tiles are available. Large tiles are made of multiple tiles.
- airport: select the airoplane icon in F2 and place with shift
- powerplant3: nuclear installation placement same as airport
- education3: old castle placement same as airport
- housing 3: place four tiles of housing type 3 in a square, when housing becoms negative and the year is above 1930 a skyscraper will be built
- commercial 3: same as housing 3 only work needs to be negative
- policestation: place 4 police stations in a square, next month a big policestation is built
- firestation: same as policestation
- hospital: same as policestation

**new functions**
- Function keys are selectable without first entering the menu
- Menu can be left with EXIT
- Disasters are enabled, disable through F6 "disasters" use < and > arrow to select
- Map can be generated through F6
- Time speed can be set through F6
- Gamespeed can beset through F6

shortcut keys:
- SHIFT + -> saves a game
- SHIFT + PLUS loads a game
- SHIFT + EXIT exits game

I hope this post helps you guys (and girls of course ;) ) playing this game because i realize this game has many buttons and options. I hope you like it and I hope to release a definitive version very soon.

Nope, greyscale epsilon was released when i was almost finished with the graphics maybe in a later version i will include it. But for now there other things important first.

- zoom function
- Messagesystem
- disasters including fire

I also played around with greyscales but i find it hard to display for example text and graphics at the same time, and that is a bit crucial for a game like this

- ResetCalc() from epsilon (Kucalc and epsilon are mentioned in the credits)
- Reverse icon when placing on water or on land with harbours
- Shift & exit quits game
- Shift & -> saves game
- Shift & + loads game
- Map generator in F6 menu
- Solved beaches problem
- Solved gamespeed bar bug
- Tweaked economics

When you load a saved game into this update some beaches may seem distorted, when you build a new road or place land or water it will be corrected.

There was a huge bug in version 0.15 :( i am sorry...

I have recoded the fire routine and al should be good now, please redownload

just incase anyone is interested, i have updated CalcCity

- Earthquake disaster
- big tile buildings(airport,powerIII,EducationIII)
- animated airports
- zoom has been replaced with minimap (press + when in non menu mode)
- many bugfixes on economics and disasters

please try it and suggest changes

Large tiles for commercial3, housing3, firedept, policedept and hospital:

Commercial, when four tiles of commercial 3 are in a square, the year is past 1930 and work is below zero the simalcians will build a skyscraper office

Housing, when four tiles of housing 3 are in a square, the year is past 1930 and housing is below zero the simalcians will build a skyscraper building

when you build 4 policedepartments in a square next month a gigantic policedepartment is built, same for firedept and hospital

now your city can really grow :)

very nice game :greengrin: , but i get always a system reboot error when i get an Earthquake disaster...
but disasters off solve this :lol:

BTW could you import a nuclear disaster then the Nuclear Plant is damaged :twisted:

I have a problem with your game <_< , I had a very good city, with more than 11.000 inhabitants, and I saved the game, and then, nomber of inhabitantsgo to zero, so I lost my gold :(

the number doesn't really go to zero, only the number of inhabitants on the screen is refreshed every new month so when loading a game th first month it seems you have 0 inhabitants but when the month changes to the next you should see your population again. At least thats the way how it is programmed. So in that case you shouldn't have lost gold at all. I will look at it this weekend. please keep finding bugs so i can change them

ok i made a small update because people reported some bugs,

- Population disappeared after loading a game (fixed)
- Game crash when earthquake (fixed i geuss, read on)
- Ox + and - issue (- zooms in, +zooms out now ;) )

The earthquake, well i tested it and it should work, but if you want you can help me test it, when pressing shift and 1 at the same time you force an earthquake. Tell me if it crashes again and what you think caused it :)

Ok, :) finally an update :)

update 30-06-2007 (v0.210)
- Railroads
- Large industrial
- Large Church and graveyard
- Large Waste incinirator
- Large Stadium
- Redesigned forests

I have added railroads (not animated yet though) and also new large tiles for industrial (place 4 of type 3 in a square)

The game is getting really large now :| (120kb) so please AU owners test it for me :|

I guess it now has all tiles (at least, i still have to add one tile (menu F2, icon with chimney, anti airpolution) and i still want to add airoplane, train and ship animation)

Please, please test it for me, i am getting close to a final version :)

Ok made an update.

Please read the startpost of the thread on CasioKingdom. I have described all new features there (now there is an option to stop animations and an option to show FPS)

Optimised economic model

This version is ready to be distributed through forums like this
