That's nice, but how can I trust the new updates if they still aren't available in edu.casio?

I just downloaded the new update and updated my calculator. No problems. The new features are highly worth the upgrade! :D There's now unit conversion, string support, etc.

String functions are great, but the limit of only 20 strings is pity (or disappointing? I'm not good in english)
The Casio programmers don't know manage the memory dynamically ?

I always get "Update failed".
Is it because I'm running the installer under wine (using <{GNULINUX}>)
or is the OS Update only for some calculators? (I have an Casio fx-9860g; current OS: 1.05)

Yes, I read it. The settings were right /USB/Off/Memory); and I pressed the receive key when the setup said so,...

EDIT:

Okay, updated the calculator at school...

BTW: The new manual says that natural input is also possible in grasph menu, but it doesn't work on my Calc...
is it only possible with the newer calculators?

its a limitation from casio so you have to buy newer calcs... this is marketing.

^ This thread for is posting updates about the fx-9860G. I think it would be better if all the info would be contained within one thread, than having multiples of them.

I have a "Casio fx-9860g" calculator the normal one. i.e. not slim or AU, just 9860g. Could someone please tell me if the software version 2 link given above for slim or AU will work on my model??
